Iran announces that it agreed to the suggestion of Oman to hold the fifth round of the negotiations with the United States in Rome on 23 May, confirming that it sticks to its right for the peaceful use of the nuclear energy and to lifting the sanctions.

Official spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Esmā‘īl Baqāī announced on Wednesday night that Iran agreed to the suggestion of the Sultanate of Oman to hold the fight round of the negotiations with Washington in Rome.
The Foreign Minister of Oman had reported that “the fifth round of the nuclear negotiations between Iran and America will be held on 23 May”.
Baqā’ī confirmed the intent of the Iranian delegation to hold on to the right of the Iranian people for the peaceful use of the nuclear energy, including the uranium enrichment and to lifting the sanctions.
On his behalf Iranian Foreign Minister ‘Abbās ‘Arāqčī confirmed that “our position is very clear, and that is that the enrichment will continue wether an agreement is reached, or not”.
The Iranian Consultative Assembly in a statement pointed out that “the level of uranium enrichment cannot be set lower than 20%, as the enrichment rate will rely on the needs of the peaceful needs of the Iranian people”.
The fifth round will be held in the Italian capital Rome for the second time since the negotiation have started around a month and a half ago by Omani mediation.

أعلن المتحدث باسم الخارجية الإيرانية، إسماعيل بقائي، مساء الأربعاء، أنّ إيران. وافقت على مقترح سلطنة عمان بعقد جولة محادثات خامسة مع واشنطن في روما.
وكان وزير خارجية عُمان، قد أفاد أنّ “الجولة الخامسة من المحادثات النووية. بين إيران وأميركا ستعقد في 23 أيار/مايو الجاري”.
وأكّد بقائي عزم الوفد الإيراني على صون حقوق الشعب الإيراني في الاستخدام. السلمي للطاقة النووية، بما في ذلك تخصيب اليورانيوم ورفع العقوبات.
بدوره، أكّد وزير الخارجية الإيراني، عباس عراقتشي أنّ “موقفنا واضح للغاية. وهو أنّ التخصيب سيستمر، سواء تم التوصل إلى اتفاق أم لا”.
وأشار مجلس الشورى الإيراني في بيان إلى أنّه “لا يمكن تحديد مستوى تخصيب. اليورانيوم في إيران بأقل من 20%، إذ إن نسبة التخصيب ستعتمد على احتياجات الشعب الإيراني السلمية”.
