The tensions grew at Ašrafiyya at Ṣaḥnāyā to the south of Damascus following renewed armed clashes amidst a sense of fear that the sphere of violence would extend.

On Wednesday the Syrian Ministry of Health reported that the number of victims has risen following the clashes at the town of Ašrafiyya at Ṣaḥnāyā at the outskirts of Damascus to 11 people, including members of the General Security in addition to a number of injuries. That is despite the meeting held at night between the authorities and the elders of the Druze community to contain the tension.

A security source in Damascus told the SANA agency that “a group of outlaws at the area of Ašrafiyya at Ṣaḥnāyā attacked a checkpoint of the General Security administration yesterday night, which had led to the injury of 3 members with various wounds”.

The source added that “parallel to this another group at the same time set out to the agricultural areas and opened fire upon civilian vehicles and vehicles of the General Security Administration at the road, which has led to the death of 6 people and the injury of others”.

The Ministry of Interior underlined that it “will not negotiate with those criminals and will hit with an iron first all those who want to undermine the security of Syria and target its people”.

On the other hand the Syrian Observer of Human Rights reported on chases that broke out between armed men of the authority and others, Druze members of the area”. Thus pointing out that clashes concentrated on the Ašrafiyya neighborhood at Ṣaḥnāyā and extended to the vicinity of the Arab Bank and the entrance of the town, while attacks have been registered against the security checkpoints and heavy fire was taken by both sides.

The Syrian authorities announced that the curfew was imposed at the town of Ṣaḥnāyā until 5 p.m. in an attempt to control the volatile security situation. Journalist and civil rights activist Rawād Bilān talking to al-Mayadeen said: “all areas of Syria are terrified and scared about what might take place on the ground”.

Ṭarīf warns against the massacre of the Druze in Syria

In a noticeable development a number of people of the Druze community in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights attacked the border barrier with the Syrian lands, expressing their solidarity with the Druze of Ašrafiyya at Ṣaḥnāyā following the bloody clashes in rural Damascus.

On his behalf the spiritual leader of the Druze faith in occupied Palestine aš-Šayh Muwaffaq Ṭarīf called for “immediate intervention by the Israeli occupying army” to prevent what he described as “imminent massacre against the Druze villages in Syria”, pointing out the escalating tensions and the fears of expanding sectarian violence”.

The Military Council in as-Suwaydā’ condemns the events in Ṣaḥnāyā and warns against a sectarian division

In the context of the growing tensions in rural Damascus the Military Council in as-Suwaydā’ issued a statement in which it strongly condemned the “terrorist escalation” that had targeted civilians at Ṣaḥnāyā and Ašrafiyya, holding those called “the authority of status quo we stand against” directly responsible for all the blood of the Druze people that is spilled and for the continued suffering of the innocent civilians following these attacks.

The statement added that “the collusion of these sides and their acts count as a clear participation in the agitation and committed crimes against us specifically as Druze that threats the unity of the Syrian national fabric as a whole”.

The Military Council confirmed its stance supporting the people of Ğaramānā, Ṣaḥnāyā and Ašrafiyya and all the areas that are facing terrorism, underlining that “defending out people and the dignity of out nation is a duty about which one cannot remain neutral”.

The statement called upon all sides, including the official one to hold their national and moral responsibility combating terrorism and to immediately work on guaranteeing the safety of the citizens and the stability of the country.

The “Mountain Battalion” in as-Suwaydā’: the administration in Damascus has an interest in the sectarian division

On its behalf the collective factions of the “Mountain Battalion” in as-Suwaydā’ issued another statement underlining in it that “the administration in Damascus is working on many machinations and has an interest in grooming the ground for a sectarian division”, warning that “it was unable to stop the sectarian fanatic and terrorist attacks by those following its against Ašrafiyya at Ṣaḥnāyā and it has full responsibility for what will happen there later on”. Adding: “who warns is excused”.

These developments came one day after the clashes the city of Ğaramānā had witnessed between local armed men and others by the auxiliary governmental forces that has led to deaths and injures on both sides. The tensions resurfaced as clashes and fears broke out about growing sectarian violence.

It should be pointed out that these events came after a voice recording was spread on the social media platforms curing Prophet Muhammad that was attributed to religious leaders of the Druze faith that eventually deteriorated into a popular outrage taking a sensitive religious dimension to the clashes.

أفادت وزارة الصحة السورية، اليوم الأربعاء، بارتفاع عدد الضحايا من جرّاء الاشتباكات. في بلدة أشرفية صحنايا في ريف دمشق إلى 11 شخصاً، بينهم عناصر من الأمن العامّ، بالإضافة إلى عدد من. الإصابات، وذلك على الرغم من اجتماع عقد أمس بين السلطات وشيوخ الطائفة الدرزية لاحتواء التوتر.

وأوضح مصدر أمني في دمشق لوكالة سانا أن “مجموعات خارجة عن القانون من. منطقة أشرفية صحنايا قامت بالهجوم على حاجز يتبع لإدارة الأمن العامّ مساء أمس، ما أسفر عن إصابة 3 عناصر بإصابات متفاوتة”.

وأضاف المصدر أنه “بشكل متوازٍ، قامت مجموعات أخرى في الوقت نفسه بالانتشار بين. الأراضي الزراعية وإطلاق النار على آليات المدنيين وآليات إدارة الأمن العامّ على الطرق، ما أدى لاستشهاد 6 أشخاص وجرح آخرين”.

وزارة الداخلية شدّدت على أنها “لن تتوانى مع هؤلاء المجرمين، وستضرب بيد من. حديد كلّ من يسعى لزعزعة أمن سوريا واستهداف أبنائها”.

المجلس العسكري في السويداء يدين أحداث صحنايا ويحذر من فتنة طائفية

وفي سياق التوترات المتصاعدة في ريف دمشق، أصدر المجلس العسكري في السويداء بياناً أدان. فيه بشدة ما وصفه بـ “التصعيد الإرهابي” الذي استهدف مدينتي صحنايا والأشرفية، محمّلاً ما سماها “سلطة الأمر الواقع. التي نقف ضدها” المسؤولية المباشرة عن كل قطرة دم أُريقت من أبناء الطائفة الدرزية، وعن استمرار معاناة المدنيين الأبرياء من جرّاء هذه الهجمات.

وأضاف البيان أنّ “تواطؤ هذه الجهات وصمتها يُعدّ شراكة واضحة في التحريض. وارتكاب الجرائم الموجّهة ضدنا كدروز بشكلٍ خاص، والتي تهدّد وحدة النسيج الوطني السوري برمّته”.

وأكد المجلس العسكري وقوفه الدائم إلى جانب أهالي جرمانا وصحنايا والأشرفية، وكلّ. المناطق التي تواجه الإرهاب، مشدّداً على أن “الدفاع عن أهلنا وكرامة شعبنا واجب لا حياد عنه”.

ودعا البيان جميع الجهات، بما في ذلك الرسمية، إلى تحمّل مسؤولياتها الوطنية والأخلاقية في. مواجهة الإرهاب، والعمل العاجل لضمان أمن المواطنين واستقرار البلاد.

من جهته، أصدر تجمّع فصائل “لواء الجبل” في السويداء بياناً آخر، شدّد فيه على أن “إدارة دمشق. تكيل بمكاييل متعدّدة، ولها مصلحة في فسح المجال أمام الفتنة الطائفية”، محذّراً من أنّ “عجزها عن وقف. هجمات التكفيريين والإرهابيين الموالين لها على أشرفية صحنايا، سيحمّلها المسؤولية الكاملة عن كلّ ما سيحدث لاحقاً”، مضيفاً: “وقد أعذر من أنذر”.

وتأتي هذه التطوّرات بعد يوم من اشتباكات شهدتها مدينة جرمانا، بين مسلحين محليين وآخرين. من القوات الرديفة للحكومة، وأسفرت عن سقوط قتلى وجرحى من الطرفين، ما أعاد التوترات إلى الواجهة وأثار المخاوف من تصاعد العنف الطائفي.
