Sources to al-Mayadeen: The missile attack in Irbīl hit a Mossad base with precision.

Missiles attack at the proximity of the American Ḥarīr Base in Irbīl. The sources of al-Mayadeen report that the strikes targeted an Israeli security and intelligence hideout.

The correspondent of al-Mayadeen in Baghdad reports that on Saturday night a number of missiles fell in the proximity of the American Ḥarīr Base, close to the airport of Irbīl, which is the capital of the Iraqi Kurdistan region, also pointing out that explosions were heard around the base.

Reliable sources reveled to al-Mayadeen that the attack was carried out with more than 10 precision ballistic missiles targeting an Israeli security and intelligence hideout close to the airport.

The correspondent of al-Mayadeen in Iraq cited sources confirming that there are Mossad activities in Iraqi Kurdistan region, though Irbīl denies this.

Reliable sources confirmed to al-Mayadeen that the attack led to the destruction of the Mossad hideout along the Maṣyaf–Ṣalāḥ ad-Dīn highway, and that caused the death and injury of the operatives. Thus pointing out that the bombardment “did not target any Iraqi, or American center”.

The sources explained that the attack did not target the American Consulate in Irbīl, nor the American Ḥarīr military base in the autonomous region.

The same sources outlined that the bombardment of the Mossad hideout can be understood as a message to the Western sides threatening the Irani security on different ways.

On its own behalf the Health Minister of Kurdistan said that the attack did not cause the death of anyone, while the Iraqi Security Media Unit announced that the security forces were authorized to open an investigation about the bombardment.

The American State Department to al-Mayadeen: The incident is under investigation

The spokesman of the American State Department confirmed to al-Mayadeen that the attack did not cause any damage or casualties in any American governmental property in Iraq.

The American spokesman said: “the incident is under investigation by the Iraqi government and the government of Kurdistan region”, condemning this attack, which he described as “vicious”.

On 12 September 2021 the security service of Kurdistan region announced that at least three missiles fell in the proximity of Irbīl airport, which hosts American forces.

Insightful sources told to al-Mayadeen at that time that what was targeted was a headquarters belonging to the Israeli Mossad.

هجوم صاروخي على محيط قاعدة حرير الأميركية في أربيل، ومصادر الميادين تفيد بأنّ الضربات استهدفت مقراً استخبارياً وأمنياً إسرائيلياً.

أفاد مراسل الميادين في بغداد بسقوط عدة صواريخ، ليل أمس السبت، في محيط قاعدة حرير الأميركية، قرب مطار أربيل عاصمة إقليم كردستان العراق، مشيراً إلى سماع دوي انفجارات في محيط القاعدة.

وكشفت مصادر موثوقة للميادين أنّ الهجوم جرى بأكثر من 10 صواريخ باليستية دقيقية نجحت في استهدف مقر استخباري وأمني إسرائيلي في محيط أربيل. 

ونقل مراسل الميادين في العراق عن مصادر تأكيدها وجود نشاط للموساد في إقليم كردستان العراق، فيما نفت أربيل ذلك.

المصادر الموثوقة أكدت للميادين أن الهجوم أدى إلى تدمير مقر الموساد على طريق مصيف صلاح الدين، ما تسبب بسقوط قتلى وجرحى من العملاء، مشيرةً إلى أنّ القصف “لم يستهدف أي مركز عراقي أو أميركي”.

وأوضحت أنّ الهجوم لم يستهدف القنصلية الأميركية في أربيل، ولا قاعدة الحرير العسكرية في الإقليم.

 المصادر نفسها بيّنت أنّ قصف مقر الموساد يمكن اعتباره رسالة لأطراف غربية تهدد الأمن الإيراني بأشكال مختلفة.

من جهته، قال وزير الصحة في كردستان إنّ الهجوم لم سفر عن مقتل أي شخص، فيما أعلنت خلية الاعلام الأمني العراقي أنّ القوات الأمنية شرعت بفتح تحقيق بشأن القصف.

الخارجية الأميركية للميادين: الحادث قيد التحقيق

وأكد المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الأميركية للميادين أنّ الهجوم لم يتسبب بأي ضرر أو ضحايا، في أيٍّ من منشآت الحكومة الأميركية في العراق.

وقال المتحدث الأميركي: “إنّ الحادث قيد التحقيق من قبل الحكومة العراقية، وحكومة إقليم كردستان”، مديناً هذا الهجوم الذي وصفه بـ”الشنيع”.

وفي 12 أيلول/سبتمبر 2021، أعلن الجهاز الأمني لإقليم كردستان سقوط ثلاثة صواريخ على الأقل قرب مطار أربيل، والذي يستضيف قوات أميركية.

وقالت مصادر مطلعة للميادين، في ذلك الوقت، إنّ ما تم استهدافه هو مقر تابع للموساد الإسرائيلي
