Iranian President Ebrāhīm Ra’īsī welcomes Iraqi Foreign Minister Fu’ād Ḥussayn and confirms that “the relations between the two countries are broader than just neighboring relations”.
Iranian President Ebrāhīm Ra’īsī confirmed that his country “wants a strong, dear and united Iraq” expressing his hope about “a political awakening to happen by the will and interests of the Iraqi people, and thus by the cooperation of all main political sides in Iraq”.
Ra’īsī explained during a meeting with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fu’ād Ḥussayn that “the relations between the two countries are broader than neighboring relations”, underlining that “Iran is keen on embracing these brotherly relations to the highest possible level”.
The Iranian President announced that “the security and interests of Tehran and Baghdad are interconnected with each other and the enemies will be completely unable to disturb these relations”.
He also pointed out that “Iran always supported the unity of Iraq and the integrity of its lands, the unity of its people with all its ethnicities and religions, which represent the basis to secure the stability of Iraq”.
On the security level, the Iranian President reassured the Iraqi Foreign Minister that “Iran awaits from its neighbors, especially Iraq not to allow and presence interfering with its security, either in the areas controlled by the central government or in the areas of the Kurdistan region”.
Ra’īsī explained that “Iran has proven effectively its brotherly stance towards its neighbors in situations of hardship, not only in times of opulence. Therefore it awaits the neighboring states to be aware of enemy plots”.
Ḥussayn: Iraq will never be a source or action against the security of Iran
On his own behalf, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fu’ād Ḥussayn said that “his country is keen on strengthening the level of cooperation and coordination with Iran on various bilateral, regional and international fields”. He continued by saying that “Iraq is not only a neighbor to Iran but also an ally and friend to it”.
He added that “Iraq will never be a source of action against the security of Iran”, confirming “the readiness of Iraq for a broad cooperation including the field of security, to prevent any threat against the Iranian interests”.
Yesterday Iranian Foreign Minister Ḥosseyn Amīr ‘Abdollahiyān during a press conference with his Iraqi colleague Fu’ād Ḥussayn said that “our relationship with Iraq is deep-rooted, strategic, and perfect”.
Amīr ‘Abdollahiyān added: “We concentrated on the important role Iraq is playing in the region and we welcomed its role to bring the views of Iran and Saudi Arabia closer”.
Iraqi Foreign Minister Fu’ād Ḥussayn confirmed that “the security of Iran and Iraq are intertwined with the security of the region”, adding that “any security problem between the two countries shall be solved by dialogue”.
Ḥussayn pointed out that “the Iranians have complained about certain security matters in Iraq”, and explained that “the Iranian security worries in Iraq must be addressed by diplomacy”.

الرئيس الإيراني إبراهيم رئيسي يستقبل وزير الخارجية العراقي فؤاد حسين، ويؤكّد أنَّ “العلاقات بين البلدين أوسعُ من علاقاتِ جوارٍ
أكّد الرئيس الإيراني، ابراهيم رئيسي، أنَّ بلاده “تريد عراقاً قوياً وعزيزاً وموحّداً”، مُعرباً عن أمله بـ”حدوثِ انفراجٍ سياسيٍّ انطلاقاً من إرادةِ ومصالحِ الشعب العراقي، وذلك من خلال تعاون كل الأطراف السياسية الرئيسية في العراق”.
وأوضح رئيسي خلال لقاءٍ مع وزير الخارجية العراقي فؤاد حسين، أنَّ “العلاقات بين البلدين أوسعُ من علاقاتِ جوارٍ”، مشدِّداً على أنَّ “إيران عازمةٌ على الارتقاء بهذه العلاقات الأخوية الى أعلى مستوى”.
وأعلن الرئيس الإيراني أنَّ “أمن ومصالح طهران وبغداد مرتبطان ببعضهما، ولن يستطيع الأعداء مطلقاً المساس بهذه العلاقات”.
كما بيّن أنَّ “إيران دعمت دائماً وحدة العراق، وسلامة أراضيه، ووحدة شعبه بجميع القوميات والأديان، التي تمثّل الأرضية للحفاظ على استقرار العراق”.
وعلى الصعيد الأمني، أكّد الرئيس الإيراني لوزير الخارجية العراقي أنَّ “إيران تنتظر من جيرانها، وخاصّةً العراق، عدم السماح بأيِّ وجودٍ يخلّ بأمنها، سواء في المناطق التي تسيطر عليها الحكومة الاتحادية أو في مناطق إقليم كردستان”.
وأوضح رئيسي أنَّ “إيران أثبتت عملياً مواقفها الأخوية تجاه جيرانها، في حال الشدة وليس فقط في حال الرخاء، وبالتالي ننتظر من الدول الجارة أن تكون متيقّظةً تجاه مؤامرات الأعداء”.
حسين: العراق لن يكون أبداً منطَلَقاً للعمل ضدَّ أمن إيران
بدوره، قال وزير الخارجية العراقي، فؤاد حسين، إنَّ “بلاده مهتمّة بتعزيز مستوى التعاون والتنسيق مع إيران في مختلف المجالات الثنائية والإقليمية والدولية”، وتابع أنَّ “العراق ليس جاراً لإيران فحسب، بل هو حليفٌ وصديقٌ لها”.
وأضاف أنَّ “العراق لن يكون أبداً منطَلَقاً للعمل ضدَّ أمن إيران”، مؤكّداً “استعداد العراق لتعاونٍ واسعِ النطاق، بما في ذلك في المجال الأمني، لمنع أيِّ تهديدٍ للمصالح الإيرانية”.
وأمس، قال وزير الخارجية الإيرانية، حسين أمير عبد اللهيان، خلالَ مؤتمرٍ صحافيٍّ مع نظيره العراقي، فؤاد حسين، إنَّ “علاقتنا مع العراق متجذِّرةٌ واستراتيجيةٌ وممتازةٌ“.
وأضاف أمير عبد اللهيان: “ركّزنا على الدور الهام الذي يلعبه العراق في المنطقة، ورحّبنا بدوره في تقريب وجهات النظر بين إيران والسعودية”.
وأكّد وزير الخارجية العراقي، فؤاد حسين، أنَّ “أمن إيران والعراق مرتبطانِ بأمن المنطقة”، مضيفاً أنَّ “أيَّ مشكلةٍ أمنيةٍ بين البلدين ينبغي أن تُحَلَّ بالحوار”.
وأشار حسين إلى أنَّ “لدى الإيرانيين شكاوى حول بعض القضايا الأمنية في العراق”، وبيّن أنّه “يجب معالجة المخاوف الإيرانية الأمنية في العراق بالدبلوماسية
