Iranian President Ḥasan Rōḥānī confirmed that the relations of Iran with Turkey are built on the principles of good neighborliness, mutual respect, and common interests.

During the sixth meeting of the Supreme Council of Strategic Cooperation between Iran and Turkey President Rōḥānī added: “There is no way ahead of us other than to strengthen the relations between Iran and Turkey to overcome the conspiracies connected to both sides.
The President of the Islamic Republic hoped fast recovery for those ill with Corona in Turkey, asking God Almighty to save both the Iranian and the Turkish people, and all the people of the world from this dangerous virus, so its end can be celebrated as soon as possible.
He pointed out that spread of the virus is a case where the meeting could not have been held personally in Tehran, and the Turkish President and his delegation could not visit it. Therefore the sides studied the development of the bilateral ties via the virtual space.
He said that the relations between the two friendly countries, Iran and Turkey, throughout history are built on very deep-rooted principles and those very bitter and regretful events never tampered with these relations, which tie the two brotherly and friendly countries together, which are focusing on good neighborliness, common cultural values, mutual respect and also giving importance to the common interest of stability, safety, and peace in the region.
Rōḥānī said: “Fortunately, the borders between the two countries were always the borders of peace and friendship, especially in the last few seven years, and the government of the two countries took efforts to improve the bilateral relations, the regional and the international cooperation”.
He added: “Both countries are in a quite sensitive region in the Middle East. The two countries are great powers in the region and as long as animosity and discontent towards the two countries until this day, there is no way than to strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries to overcome these conspiracies.
Rōḥānī continued with the following: “I strongly hope that our joint meeting today and the agreements we reach will be fruitful and constructive for the bilateral relations”.
Erdoğan expressed his hope to increase the meetings and discussions between the two countries, which are good for both sides, expressing that the high-level cooperation mechanism reflects the good Turkish-Iranian friendship.
He recalled that the fifth meeting of the council was held in Ankara in 2018, pointing out that they signed a number of important decisions within the framework of the council to this day.
President Erdoğan said: “The dialogue between Iran and Turkey is a principal role in solving a number of matters in the region. With the decrease in the spread of the Coronavirus, I trust that the level of cooperation between the two countries will return to the former level.
The Turkish President continued: “I wish mercy and salvation for all those Iranians lost their lives because of the Coronavirus and I hope fast recovery from this sickness for the patients”.
The Turkish President said: “Today, with our friends, we will work to improve our cooperation even more in the framework of the meeting. Today, we will look through the agreements and the ways of cooperation which were between us and will try to increase this cooperation”.
He went on: “We expressed our standing with the Iranian people at the beginning of the spread of the disease with the medical equipment and needs we sent”.
He expressed that Turkey still controls the epidemic despite the increase of the numbers of infections recently, adding that: “On one hand we improve our medical system with new hospitals equipped with the most modern technology, while on the other hand, we strive to put our economy back on track in production, export, and tourism”.
He brought it into attention that God Almighty in the Holy Quran says that after every hardship there is rejoice, expressing his belief that Turkey and Iran will get out of this phase of the epidemic stronger.
He said: “I believe that the decisions we will take today will speed up the remaining matters in our bilateral relations”.
He confirmed that there is a great responsibility upon the ministers in both countries as far as implementing the decisions taken, pointing out his intention to meet his Iranian partner the soonest as possible after the epidemic is overcome.
All that came in a statement issued after the sixth meeting of the Supreme Council of Strategic Cooperation between Iran and Turkey was held with the participation of the two presidents Ḥasan Rōḥānī and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Iran and Turkey confirmed the agreement of mutual cooperation between themselves on the field of fighting terrorism, supporting the Palestinian cause against plans to undermine it.
The statement confirmed that the two states plan to implement the bilateral agreement based on mutual interests and to continue the political dialogue about bilateral and regional matters on all levels.
The statement also stressed the importance of keeping the nuclear agreement, considering it a major multilateral diplomatic achievement, and confirmed the importance of solving the Syrian crisis by political action and the continuation of the Astana Process.

أكد الرئيس الایراني حسن روحاني ان علاقات ايران مع تركيا مبنية على اساس حسن الجوار والاحترام المتبادل والمصالح المشتركة
وأضاف الرئيس روحاني خلال الاجتماع السادس للمجلس الأعلى للتعاون الاستراتيجي بين إيران وتركيا: لا سبيل أمامنا سوى تعزيز العلاقات بين ايران وتركيا للتغلب على المؤامرات المتربصة بالجانبين
وتمنى رئيس الجمهورية الاسلامية الايرانية الشفاء لمرضى كورونا المستجد في تركيا، داعيا الباري تعالى لتخليص الشعبين الايراني والتركي وجميع شعوب العالم من هذا الفيروس الخطير لتحتفل بنهايته في القريب العاجل
واشار الى ان تفشي الفيروس حال دون انعقاد الاجتماع حضوريا في طهران واستضافة الرئيس التركي ووفد بلاده، ما حدا بالطرفين للبحث حول تطوير العلاقات الثنائية عبر الاجواء الافتراضية
وقال، ان العلاقات بين البلدين الصديقين ايران وتركيا مبنية على مدى التاريخ على اسس راسخة جدا وان وقوع احداث مرة ومؤسفة لم يؤد ابدا للمساس بهذه العلاقات التي تربط البلدين الشقيقين والصديقين والمرتكزة على اساس حسن الجوار والقيم الثقافية المشتركة والاحترام المتبادل وكذلك الاهتمام بالمصالح المشتركة والاستقرار والامن والسلام في المنطقة
وقال روحاني: “لحسن الحظ ، كانت حدود البلدين دائمًا حدود السلام والصداقة ، وخاصة في السنوات السبع الماضية ، استندت جهود الحكومتين إلى تطوير العلاقات الثنائية والتعاون الإقليمي والدولي
وأضاف: “كلا البلدين في منطقة حساسة للغاية في الشرق الأوسط. فالبلدين قوتان عظميان في المنطقة ، ولطالما كان هناك عداوة واستياء تجاه البلدين ، ولا تزال موجودة حتى اليوم”. ولا سبيل إلا لتقوية العلاقات الودية بين البلدين لتجاوز هذه المؤامرات
وتابع روحاني: “آمل بشدة أن يكون اجتماعنا المشترك اليوم والاتفاقيات التي سنبرمها مثمرة وبناءة للعلاقات الثنائية
وأعرب أردوغان عن أمله في أن تجلب الاجتماعات والمشاورات بين البلدين الخير للجانبين، مبينًا أن آلية التعاون رفيعة المستوى تعد إحدى أوسمة الصداقة التركية – الإيرانية
ولفت إلى أن الاجتماع الخامس للمجلس عقد في العاصمة أنقرة عام 2018، مشيرًا إلى أنهم وقعوا العديد من القرارات الهامة في إطار المجلس حتى اليوم
وقال الرئيس اردوغان: “للحوار بين إيران وتركيا دور حاسم في حل العديد من القضايا في المنطقة”. مع انخفاض انتشار فيروس كورونا ، أنا واثق من عودة مستوى التعاون بين البلدين إلى المستوى السابق
وتابع الرئيس التركي: “أتمنى الرحمة والمغفرة لكل الإيرانيين الذين فقدوا حياتهم بسبب فيروس كورونا ، وأتمنى الشفاء العاجل لمرضى هذا المرض
وقال الرئيس التركي: “اليوم ، مع أصدقائنا ، سنعمل على زيادة تطوير تعاوننا في إطار الاجتماع”. اليوم ، سنراجع الاتفاقيات وأوجه التعاون التي كانت بيننا وسنحاول تكثيف هذا التعاون.
وأردف: “أظهرنا وقوفنا إلى جانب الشعب الإيراني في بداية انتشار الوباء عبر المعدات والمستلزمات الطبية التي أرسلناها
وأكد أن تركيا لا تزال مسيطرة على الوباء رغم ازدياد أعداد الإصابات في الآونة الأخيرة، مضيفًا: “من ناحية نعزز نظامنا الصحي في المستشفيات الجديدة المجهزة بأحدث التكنولوجيات، ومن الناحية الأخرى نسعى لوضع اقتصادنا على مساره في مجالات الإنتاج والتصدير والسياحة
ولفت إلى أن الله عز وجل يبشر في القرآن الكريم أن بعد كل عسر يسر، معربًا عن اعتقاده أن تركيا وإيران ستخرجان من مرحلة الوباء بشكل أقوى
وقال: ” أعتقد أن القرارات التي سنتخذها اليوم ستسرع من المسائل المتبعة في علاقاتنا الثنائية
وأكد أن مسؤوليات هامة تقع على عاتق الوزراء في كلا البلدين فيما يخص تطبيق القرارات المتخذة، لافتًا إلى رغبته في لقاء نظيره الإيراني بأقرب وقت عقب تجاوز الوباء
جاء ذلك في بيان صدر عقب انعقاد الإجتماع السادس للمجلس الأعلى للتعاون الإستراتيجي بين إيران وتركيا بمشاركة الرئيسين حسن روحاني ورجب طيب اردوغان أكدت ايران وتركيا الاتفاق على التعاون المشترك بينهما في مكافحة الإرهاب ودعم القضية الفلسطينية في مواجهة مخططات اضعافها
واكد البيان عزم البلدين على التنفيذ الفعال للقرارات الثنائية القائمة على المصالح المشتركة وعلى استمرار المحادثات السياسية حولَ القضايا الثنائية والإقليمية على جميعِ المستويات
كما شدد البيان على أهمية الحفاظ على الاتفاق النووي باعتبارِه إنجازا بارزا للدبلوماسية المتعددة الأطراف وأكد على ضرورة حلّ الازمة السورية من خلال العملية السياسية واستمرار مسار أستانا
