Governor of the Syrian Central Bank ‘Abd al-Qādir al-Ḥaṣriyya says that the economy of his country is developing in a speed that exceeds the prognoses of the World Bank for 2025. That is because of the inflow of returnees to the country.

Speaking to Reuters Next on Thursday Governor of the Syrian Central Bank ‘Abd al-Qādir al-Ḥaṣriyya said that the Syrian economy is witnessing a development much faster than the estimates of the World Bank, exceeding 1% for 2025. This is due to the inflow of the returnees to the countries after the war lasting for 14 had ended, which contributes to supporting the plans of the country to relaunch its currency.
Al-Ḥaṣriyya welcomed the agreement of VISA to set up digital payment systems, adding that the country is working with the International Monetary Fund to develop precise economic data analysis methods.
The “Reuters” had revealed in one of its reports that the new Syrian government is working of restructuring the Syrian economy after the years of sanctions imposed on Damascus during the term of former President Baššār al-Asad under the oversight of a committee by people with concealed identities until now under virtual names.
According to the report the restructuring of the economy is conducted under the guidance of the elder brother of Aḥmad aš-Šar‘a, president of the transitional administration in Syria, called Ḥāzim aš-Šar‘a. The Reuters also added that the leader of the committee is Abū Maryam al-Ustrālī (Ibrāhīm Sukkariyya), who is an Australian of Lebanese origin listed on the sanctions list of his original country for civilians financing terrorism.
