Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kāẓem Ġarībābādī holds the first meeting of the Joint Strait of Hormuz Committee with the Omani side.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kāẓem Ġarībābādī announced holding the first meeting of the Joint Strait of Hormuz Committee with the Omani, which was held during his visit to Muscat.
Ġarībābādī explained that during the meeting the exchange of views were held with the Omani side about the future management of the Strait of Hormuz, in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two sides, serving the rights of the riparian states.
In the same context Iranian Foreign Minister ‘Abbās ‘Arāqčī had confirmed earlier with Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Būsa‘īdī to launch a dialogue between the two sides to outline the future of the administration and the maritime services in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran and the Sultanate of Oman had agreed on forming a joint committee to study the maritime administration in the Strait of Hormuz within the frame of following up on the Memorandum of Understanding and the guarantees of maritime safety and security, upholding the rights of the riparian states and the stability of this vital passage.

أعلن مساعد وزير الخارجية الإيراني للشؤون القانونية والدولية، كاظم غريب آبادي، عقد الاجتماع الأول للجنة مضيق هرمز المشتركة مع الجانب العُماني، وذلك خلال زيارته إلى مسقط
وأوضح غريب آبادي أنه جرى خلال الاجتماع، تبادل وجهات النظر مع الجانب العُماني بشأن الإدارة المستقبلية لمضيق هرمز، وذلك وفقاً لمذكرة التفاهم الموقعة بين الجانبين، وبما يراعي حقوق الدول المشاطئة للمضيق.
وفي السياق نفسه،كان وزير الخارجية الإيراني عباس عراقتشي قد أكد في وقت سابق مع وزير الخارجية العُماني بدر البوسعيدي، على إطلاق حوار بين الجانبين لتحديد مستقبل الإدارة وخدمات الملاحة البحرية في مضيق هرمز.
وكانت إيران وسلطنة عُمان قد اتفقتا على تشكيل لجنة مشتركة لبحث إدارة الملاحة في مضيق هرمز، في إطار متابعة مذكرة التفاهم والتأكيد على أمن وسلامة الملاحة، بما يحفظ حقوق الدول المشاطئة واستقرار هذا الممر الحيوي
