Former official of the personnel protection unit “aš-Šābāk” believes that uncovering a spy in the home of the Security Minister is a “failure” for the organization and a matter having consequences for the future.
Former official of the personnel protection unit “aš-Šābāk” Mikó Fineberg commented on the matter of revealing an Israeli spying for the benefit of Iran and working in the home of the Security Minster Benny Gantz saying that the spy “bypassed the aš-Šābāk organization’s screening process”.
He added in a conversation with Israel Army Radio that “there is this situation that this man managed to infiltrate. The conversation was about the considerably big failure with a lot of implications”.
Yesterday, on Thursday the Israeli security service arrested a worker called ‘Amori Gorin, who was providing in home and cleaning services in the home of Security Minister Benny Gantz, upon charges of treason and espionage for the benefit of an Iranian group.
The investigation revealed that “Gorin contacted an institution linked to Iran offering his help to spying”. Like he planted a spyware on the computer of Security Minister Gantz and to prove his seriousness “he took pictures from a number of places within Gantz’s home”.
Previously Gantz’s phone was hacked in March 2019 and it was claimed at that time that Iranian hackers stood behind this operation.
On its own behalf the “Yehidot Aharonot” newspapers described this event as “a notable failure for aš-Šābāk” for its failure to remove Gorin before he got his job in the home of the Security Minister, adding that the matter has to be dealt with “as a danger”, since that means that “the Iranians were operationally monitoring the Security Minister”.
It continued that “it is clear that there was a glitch in the personal employment process, which would have had to be personalized before, and not letting a person like this to work in the close surrounding of the Security Minister”.

المسؤول السابق في وحدة حماية الشخصيات في “الشاباك” يعتبر أنّ اكتشاف جاسوس في منزل وزير الأمن “فشل” للمنظمة، وهو الأمر الذي سيكون له تداعيات في المستقبل
علّق المسؤول السابق في وحدة حماية الشخصيات في “الشاباك” ميكي فاينبرغ على قضية اكتشاف إسرائيلي يتجسس لصالح إيران ويعمل في منزل وزير الأمن بيني غانتس، بالقول إنّه من الصعب التصديق أنّ الجاسوس “اجتاز عملية تصنيف منظمة الشاباك”.
وأضاف في حديث لإذاعة الجيش الإسرائيلي أنّ “هناك وضع استطاع فيه هذا الشاب الإفلات. يجري الحديث عن فشل موضعي كبير جداً مع الكثير من الانعكاسات”.
واعتقلت أجهزة الأمن الإسرائيلية، أمس الخميس، عاملاً يدعى عومري غورين، كان يخدم في أعمال منزلية ونظافة في منزل وزير الأمن بيني غانتس، بتهمة الخيانة والتجسس لصالح مجموعة إيرانية.
وكشف التحقيق أنّ “غورين اتصل بهيئة مرتبطة بإيران وعرض عليها المساعدة في التجسس”، مثل زرع برامج تجسس في حاسوب وزير الأمن غانتس، ولإثبات جديّته “قام بتصوير عدة أماكن في منزل غانتس”.
وسبق أن تعرّض هاتف غانتس لاختراق في آذار/مارس 2019، ورجّح حينها وقوف مقرصنين إيرانيين وراء هذه العملية.
بدورها، وصفت صحيفة “يديعوت أحرونوت” هذه الحادثة بـ”الفشل المدوي للشابك” بسبب فشله في تنحية غورين قبل أن يتولى وظيفته في بيت وزير الأمن، مضيفةً أنّه من الواجب التعامل مع القضية “بخطورة”، فهي تعني أنّ “الإيرانيين تنصّتوا عملياً على وزير الأمن”.
