The American Central Command – CENTCOM – announces ending the task of transporting more than 5700 “Dā‘iš” members from Syria to Iraq.

On Friday the American Central Command – CENTCOM – announces ending the task of transporting “Dā‘iš” members from Syria to Iraq.
The American Central Command stated that its troops “carried out their task in Syria that was to transport the detainees of the Dā‘iš Organization to Iraq”.
In a statement CENTCOM added that “the task of transportation has lasted for 23 days, after it had started on 21 January”.
It pointed out that this operation “transported more than 5700 primary fighters of the Dā‘iš Organization from detention centers in Syria to detention in Iraq”.
The American army had announced on 21 January to start transporting the detainees after clashes with Qasad in Northeastern Syria.
The Iraqi judiciary had informed on 2 February about investigations starting against 1387 members of the Dā‘iš Organization, who had been handed over recently.

أعلنت القيادة المركزية الأميركية “سنتكوم”، اليوم الجمعة، إنهاء مهمة نقل عناصر “داعش” من سوريا إلى العراق.
وقالت القيادة المركزية الأميركية إنّ قواتها “أنجزت مهمتها في سوريا المتمثّلة في نقل معتقلين من تنظيم داعش إلى العراق
وأضافت “سنتكوم”، في بيان، أنّ “مهمة النقل استمرت 23 يوماً، بعدما كانت قد بدأت في 21 كانون الثاني/يناير”.
وأشارت إلى أنّ هذه العملية “نقلت أكثر من 5700 مقاتل بالغ من تنظيم داعش من مراكز الاحتجاز في سوريا إلى الحجز بالعراق”.
وكان الجيش الأميركي قد أعلن في الـ21 من كانون الثاني/يناير عن بدء نقل المحتجزين، بعد الاشتباكات مع “قسد” في شمال شرق سوريا.
