The Iranian Foreign Minister confirms that the third round of the indirect negotiations with the United States in Muscat was serious and operational with an agreement on continuing the negotiations next week.

On Saturday Iranian Foreign Minister ‘Abbās ‘Arāqčī confirmed that the third round of the indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States in Muscat was more serious and operational than the previous ones, pointing out that the negotiations have entered into technical details and departed the general matters.
‘Arāqčī pointed out that there are still some disagreements about some of the main matters “which need work to settle within the next phases”, expressing that he is pleased with the process of the negotiations and their speed, confirming that the general atmosphere “is positive and operational”.
The Iranian Foreign Minister pointed out that economic experts have accompanied the Iranian delegation in this round, to whom it is expected that experts of the Iranian Nuclear Energy Agency will join next week, reflecting that the negotiations have entered into the more detailed aspects of the case.
‘Arāqčī also pointed out that the negotiations solely focused on the Iranian nuclear matter, without addressing other matters, pointing out that the objective of the negotiations is “to assure the international community about the peaceful nature of the nuclear program, in exchange for lifting the sanctions imposed on Tehran”.
Aside from all this he pointed out that the next round of the negotiations will be held next Saturday in the Sultanate of Oman, confirming that the course of the negotiations is good and show an increasing progress amid a serious and constructive atmosphere from both sides.
In this context official spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Esmā‘īl Baqā’ī said that the exchange of views is continuing via the Omani intermediaries, especially about the the matters of lifting the sanctions and assuring the international community about the peaceful nature of the Iranian nuclear program.
On his behalf Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Būsa‘īdī announced that the meetings have addressed the principles, the political aims and the technical concerns.
He confirmed that the fourth round is scheduled for next Saturday with an expectation to hold a high level meeting on 3 May.

أكد وزير الخارجية الإيراني، عباس عراقتشي، اليوم السبت، أنّ الجولة الثالثة من المحادثات. غير المباشرة بين إيران والولايات المتحدة في مسقط، كانت أكثر جدية وعملية من سابقاتها، لافتاً إلى. أنّ المحادثات دخلت في تفاصيل فنية وابتعدت عن القضايا العامّة.
وأشار عراقتشي إلى أن هناك استمراراً لبعض الخلافات بشأن بعض القضايا العامّة، “ما يستدعي. العمل على تفكيكها ضمن المراحل المقبلة”، معبّراً عن ارتياحه من عملية التفاوض وسرعتها، مؤكداً أنّ الأجواء العامّة “إيجابية وعملية”.
ولفت وزير الخارجية الإيراني إلى أنّ خبراء اقتصاديين رافقوا الوفد الإيراني خلال هذه الجولة، ومن. المتوقّع أن ينضمّ إليهم الأسبوع المقبل خبراء من منظمة الطاقة الذرية الإيرانية، مما يعكس الانتقال. إلى مناقشة جوانب أكثر تفصيلاً من الملف.
كما شدّد عراقتشي على أن المحادثات تركّز حصراً على الملف النووي الإيراني من دون التطرّق إلى أيّ. قضايا أخرى، مشيراً إلى أنّ الغاية من التفاوض هي “طمأنة المجتمع الدولي بشأن سلمية. البرنامج النووي مقابل رفع العقوبات المفروضة على طهران”.
إلى جانب ذلك، أشار إلى أنّ الجولة المقبلة من المحادثات، ستُعقد يوم السبت المقبل، في سلطنة. عمان، مؤكداً أن وتيرة التفاوض جيدة وتشهد زخماً متزايداً وسط أجواء من الجدية والإصرار من كلا الطرفين.
وفي السياق، قال المتحدّث باسم الخارجية الإيرانية، إسماعيل بقائي، إنّ تبادل وجهات النظر مستمر عبر الوساطة العمانية، خاصةً حول قضايا رفع العقوبات وطمأنة المجتمع الدولي حول سلمية البرنامج النووي الإيراني.
من جهته، أعلن وزير الخارجية العماني، بدر البوسعيدي، أنّ الاجتماعات تناولت المبادئ والأهداف الأساسية والمخاوف الفنية.
وأكد أنّ جولة رابعة مقرّرة الأسبوع المقبل، مع احتمال عقد لقاء رفيع المستوى في 3 أيار/مايو المقبل
