The Foreign Ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia in the joint press conference in Riyadh underline the high level of cooperation between the two countries in all fields in accordance with the agreement that was reached under the auspices of China. The Foreign Minister of Iran says: “The idea of holding a regional dialogue on the level of the Gulf region was raised”.
On Thursday Iranian Foreign Minister Ḥosseyn Amīr ‘Abdollahiyān in a joint press conference with his Saudi counterpart Fayṣal ibn Farḥān in Riyadh said: “We have confirmed the dedication for strengthening the relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia and to develop them in all fields”.
Amīr ‘Abdollahiyām added that while continuing the previous talks with Saudi Arabia “the idea of holding a regional dialogue on the level of the Gulf region was raised”.

The Iranian Foreign Minister said that there has been progress in the path of normalizing the relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia, pointing out the dedication of both countries to widen the bilateral ties.
He continued: “We are progressing in the right direction with Saudi Arabia that is showing progress, and both sides are dedicated to widening and strengthening the cooperation in all fields. We are heading to the factual implementation of the agreements between the two countries, either in the security, economic, or trade fields.
The Iranian Foreign Minister mentioned that the two sides agreed to appoint a joint committee by the two countries led by both foreign ministers.
Amīr ‘Abdollahiyān said: “We are extending the hand of cooperation to the neighboring states and now we are progressing on the right path in improving the relations with these states”. He expressed his hopes that “the ideas of achieving security and progress in the region are inseparable”.
He underlined: “Iran continues its support to the Palestinian cause”. He explained: “We have no doubt that the Zionist Entity will spread the seeds of dissent and aggression in our region and we are mindful of the moves of this entity”.
As for the invitation of the Iranian President to visit Saudi Arabia, Amīr ‘Abdollahiyān explained that “President Ra’īsī has received the invitation to visit Saudi Arabia by King Salmān and he shall visit it at the appropriate time”.
Ibn Farḥān: We need to activate the cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Iran on the security level
On his behalf, Saudi Foreign Minister Fayṣal ibn Farḥān confirmed that “the Kingdom is looking forward to the visit of Iranian President Ebrāhīm Ra’īsī”, based on the invitation by King Salmān ibn ‘Abd al-‘Azīz.
Ibn Farḥān said: “I have confirmed to my Iranian colleague the dedication of the Kingdom to activate the previous agreements between the two countries, especially those regarding the security and economic aspects”.
The Saudi Foreign Minister underlined the importance of “high-level cooperation and cooperation between the two countries”.
The visit by Amīr ‘Abdollahiyān to Saudi Arabia counts to be the first one by an Iranian Foreign Minister in 10 years.
Tehran has stressed a number of times that the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia may become a driving force for achieving stability for the sake of the whole region.
On Wednesday Iranian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia ‘Alī Reẓā ‘Anāytī confirmed that Tehran is looking forward to promoting the economic factor in the bilateral ties with Riyadh, pointing out that the normalization of relations with Iran and Saudi Arabia “will open many horizons” for the two countries and for the region”.
The activities between Tehran and Riyadh restarted after the official talks that were hosted by China in February, in addition to the tripartite (Tehran, Beijing, Riyadh) statement that was issued in March about restarting the relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

وزيرا خارجية إيران والسعودية يشددان في مؤتمر صحافي من الرياض على رفع مستوى التعاون بين البلدين في المجالات كافة، وفقاً للاتفاق الذي تمّ برعاية الصين، ووزير الخارجية الإيراني يقول: “طرحت فكرة إجراء حوار إقليمي على مستوى منطقة الخليج
قال وزير الخارجية الإيراني حسين أمير عبد اللهيان في مؤتمر صحافي مشترك مع نظيره السعودي في الرياض، فيصل بن فرحان، اليوم الخميس: “أكدنا العزم على تعزيز العلاقات بين إيران والسعودية وتطويرها في المجالات كافة
وأضاف أمير عبد اللهيان أنّه استمراراً للمحادثات السابقة مع السعودية “طرحتُ فكرة إجراء حوار إقليمي على مستوى منطقة الخليج
وأشاد وزير الخارجية الإيراني بمدى التقدم المحرز في تطبيع العلاقات بين إيران والسعودية، مشيراً إلى عزم البلدين توسيع التعاون الثنائي.
وتابع: “نسير في اتجاه صحيح والعلاقات مع السعودية تشهد تقدماً، وكلا الطرفين عازمان على توسيع وتعزيز التعاون في المجالات كافة، وإضفاء الطابع العملي على الاتفاقيات بين البلدين سواء المجال الأمني والاقتصادي والتجاري”.
وذكر الوزير الإيراني أنّ الجانبين اتفقا على تسمية لجان مشتركة بين البلدين يكون على رأسها وزيرا الخارجية.
وقال أمير عبد اللهيان: “نحن نمد يد التعاون لدول الجوار ونحن الآن ننتهج مساراً صحيحاً في تحسين العلاقات مع هذه الدول”، معرباً عن أمله بأنّ “فكرة تحقيق الأمن والتنمية في المنطقة لا يمكن أن تتجزأ”.
وشدد: “إيران مستمرة في دعمها القوي للقضية الفلسطينية”، موضحاً: “لا شك لدينا أنّ الكيان الصهيوني سيبث بذور الفتنة والعداء في منطقتنا، ونحن يقظون لتحركات هذا الكيان”.
وبالنسبة إلى دعوة الرئيس الإيراني لزيارة السعودية، أوضح أمير عبد اللهيان، أنّ “الرئيس رئيسي تلقى دعوة لزيارة السعودية من الملك سلمان، وهو سيزورها في الوقت المناسب”.
ابن فرحان: لتفعيل التعاون بين السعودية وإيران على المستوى الأمني
من جهته، أكّد وزير الخارجية السعودي فيصل بن فرحان أنّ “المملكة تتطلّع إلى زيارة الرئيس الإيراني إبراهيم رئيسي إليها”، بناءً على دعوة الملك سلمان بن عبد العزيز.
وقال ابن فرحان: “أكدت لنظيري الإيراني حرص المملكة على تفعيل الاتفاقيات السابقة بين البلدين، خاصة المتعلقة بالجوانب الأمنية والاقتصادية”.
وشدد وزير الخارجية السعودي على أهمية ” رفع مستوى التعاون والتنسيق بين البلدين”.
وتُعدّ زيارة أمير عبد اللهيان السعودية الأولى لوزير خارجية إيراني منذ 10 سنوات.
وشدّدت طهران أكثر من مرّة على أنّ الاتفاق بين إيران والسعودية، يمكن أن يكون القوة الدافعة وراء تحقيق الاستقرار لصالح المنطقة بأسرها.
وأمس الأربعاء، أكّد السفير الإيراني في السعودية، علي رضا عنايتي، أنّ طهران تتطلع إلى ترسيخ عنصر الاقتصاد في العلاقات الثنائية مع الرياض، مشيراً إلى أنّ تطبيع العلاقات بين إيران والسعودية “سيفتح آفاقاً كثيرة” للبلدين والمنطقة.
