Syrian President Baššār al-Asad met support by his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, who confirmed his intention to strengthen the relations between the two countries and his wish to support Damascus to rebuild the country and its infrastructure after years of war.
The Syrian presidency said in a statement on Friday that al-Asad talked on the phone with his Chinese counterpart and with him he studied the bilateral relations of the two countries and the ways to further the horizons of cooperation between themselves. Al-Asad confirmed that “the relations with China are essential and important for the Syrian people combating terrorism and the sanctions imposed on them”. President al-Asad also expressed “ the gratitude of Syria for the stance of China by its side politically on the international forums, for its support preserving the Syrian territorial unity and for stopping the terrorist war against it”.
According to the Xinhua News Agency Xi Jinping on his behalf confirmed that he dedicates great importance to develop the relations with Syria and that he is ready to work together with Syria to achieve more results in the bilateral cooperation. He added that China will continue to help Syria fighting against COVID-19 and support it on the way ahead for reconstruction and relaunching the progress. He thus added that his country also welcomes Syria’s participation in the Belt and Road global progress initiative.
Xi [Jinping] confirmed that China strongly supports Syria in its defense for its national sovereignty territorial safety and national dignity, and also strongly opposes the interference of foreign powers in Syria’s internal affairs, expressing his trust that Syria will overcome the different dangers and challenges and will achieve new victories in is struggle defending its independence, sovereignty and territorial safety. The Syrian people will witness a better future.

الأسد يتلقى دعم الرئيس الصيني لإعادة إعمار سوريا

تلقى الرئيس السوري بشار الأسد، دعم نظيره الصيني شي جين بينج، الذي أكد سعيه لتعزيز العلاقات بين البلدين وتنميتها، ودعم دمشق لإعمار البلاد، ونهوضها بعد سنوات من الحرب.
وقالت الرئاسة السورية، في بيان، الجمعة، إن الأسد تحدث بالهاتف مع نظيره الصيني، وبحث معه العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين وسبل توسيع آفاق التعاون بينهما. وأكد الأسد أن «العلاقة مع الصين محورية ومهمة بالنسبة إلى الشعب السوري في تصديه للإرهاب، وللحصار المفروض عليه». كما عبر الرئيس الأسد عن «تقدير سوريا لوقوف الصين إلى جانبها سياسياً في المحافل الدولية، ودعمها للحفاظ على وحدة الأراضي السورية وإيقاف الحرب الإرهابية عليها»
من جانبه، أكد شي أن الصين تولي أهمية كبيرة لتطوير العلاقات مع سوريا، ومستعدة للعمل مع سوريا لتحقيق المزيد من النتائج في التعاون الثنائي، بحسب وكالة «شينخوا». وأضاف أن الصين ستواصل مساعدة سوريا في مكافحة «كوفيد-19»، ودعمها في المضي قدماً في إعادة الإعمار واستئناف التنمية، مضيفا أن بلاده ترحب أيضا بمشاركة سوريا في مبادرة الحزام والطريق ومبادرة التنمية العالمية.
وأكد شي أن الصين تدعم سوريا بقوة في حماية سيادتها الوطنية وسلامة أراضيها وكرامتها الوطنية، وتعارض بشدة تدخل القوى الخارجية في شؤون سوريا الداخلية، معرباً عن ثقته فبأن سوريا ستتخطى مختلف المخاطر والتحديات، وستحقق انتصارات جديدة في نضالها للدفاع عن استقلالها وسيادتها وسلامة أراضيها، وسيشهد الشعب السوري مستقبلاً أفضل.
