A high level military source belonging to the forces of Ḥaftar has commented on the recurring reports about that Halīfa Ḥaftar took a secret visit to the Syrian capital, Damascus.

The Libyan military source in an announcement to the “Sputnik” news agency has denied the recurring news about the the visit of Ḥaftar to the Syrian capital Damascus, saying: “we deny the recurring media news about Ḥaftar’s visit to Damascus”, confirming that “Ḥaftar so far hasn’t visited Syria”.
The Saudi aš-Šarq al-Awsaṭ said yesterday, on Monday said that it took possession of informations, which indicate that Halīfa Ḥaftar had taken a secret visit to Damascus. It revealed that “this visit paved the ground to restore diplomatic connections between the government belonging to Banġāzī and the Syrian government in Syria.
The Libyan embassy was reopened in Damascus on last Tuesday, signaling that the diplomatic representation as returned between the two brotherly nations of Syria and Libya, after the Syrian Foreign Ministry signed a memorandum of understanding with partner in the interim Libyan government about reopening the offices of diplomatic missions, the consulates and the cooperation in the positions of the two states in the regional and international sphere.
On its own account Syrian President Baššār al-Asad has confirmed during his meeting with the delegation of the Libyan interim government the importance of combatting the moves of Turkey in the two countries, which contributes to “to the undermining of the stability in the region”. In this occasion Deputy Foreign Minister Fayṣal al-Miqdād said that “the Syrian flag will be waving in the skies of Libya soon”, stressing that “the return of the Libyan flag waving in the skies of Syria in a natural step to return other flags”.

وكانت صحيفة الشرق الأوسط السعودية قالت، أمس الاثنين، إنها حصلت على معلومات تشير إلى أن خليفة حفتر قد قام بزيارة سرية إلى دمشق”، كاشفة أن “هذه الزيارة مهدت الأرضية أمام استئناف العلاقات الدبلوماسية بين الحكومة الموازية في بنغازي والحكومة السورية في دمشق
وأعيد افتتاح السفارة الليبية في دمشق، يوم الثلاثاء الماضي، إيذانا بعودة التمثيل الدبلوماسي بين البلدين الشقيقين سوريا وليبيا، بعدما وقعت وزارة الخارجية السورية مع نظيرتها في الحكومة الليبية المؤقتة، على مذكرة تفاهم بشأن إعادة افتتاح مقرات البعثات الدبلوماسية والقنصلية وتنسيق مواقف البلدين في المحافل الدولية والإقليمية
من جانبه، أكد الرئيس السوري بشار الأسد، خلال لقائه وفدا من الحكومة الليبية المؤقتة، على ضرورة مواجهة تحركات تركيا في البلدين، التي تسهم في “زعزعة الاستقرار في المنطقة”، فيما قال فيصل المقداد نائب وزير الخارجية السوري، إن “العلم السوري سيرفرف في سماء ليبيا قريبا”، مشددا على أن “عودة العلم الليبي مرفرفا في سماء سوريا مقدمة طبيعية لعودة أعلام أخرى
