Yemeni media sources reported the murder of the Commander of the 8th platoon of the Emirati-supported Security Belt Forces Karam al-Mašraqī after unknown armed men opened fire today.
An official at the Emirati supported Security Belt Forces, Karam al-Mašriqī was killed in an attack at aš-Šayh ‘Utmān in ‘Adan.

A security source said that “unknown armed men driving a car opened fire on the commander of the Security Belt Forces at aš-Šayh ‘Utmān in ‘Adan (these forces belong to the Southern Transitional Council), Akram al-Mašriqī, while he was sitting on a motorcycle in front of his operational command in the district”.
It added: “al-Mašriqī was taken to the Doctors Without Borders hospital in the city of aš-Šayh ‘Utmān, but he lost his life after he received six bullets to his body”.
Before that the “Security Belt” Forces in the aš-Šayh ‘Utmān district, which was led by al-Mašriqī started a fierce battle against the Third Support and Relief Battalion, which is led by Nabīl al-Mašūšī (they all belong to the Southern Transitional Council) in June 2021. That resulted in 4 deaths on both sides, and some 15 others among them civilians.
No side claimed responsibility for the operation and the security forces in ‘Adan issued no official statement about this case.

وقال مصدر أمني إنّ “مسلحين مجهولين يستقلون سيارة نوع فوكسي أطلقوا النار على قائد قوات الحزام الأمني بمديرية الشيخ عثمان (قوات تابعة للمجلس الانتقالي الجنوبي) أكرم المشرقي بينما كان على متن دراجة نارية أمام مقر عمله بالمديرية”.
وأضاف: “تم نقل المشرقي إلى مستشفى أطباء بلا حدود بمدينة الشيخ عثمان إلا أنه فارق الحياة بعد تعرضه لست طلقات في جسده”.
وسبق أن خاضت قوات “الحزام الأمني” في مديرية الشيخ عثمان التي يقودها المشرقي معارك عنيفة مع قوات اللواء الثالث دعم وإسناد التي يقودها نبيل المشوشي (جميعها تابع للمجلس الانتقالي الجنوبي) في حزيران 2021ـ، وأسفرت عن سقوط 4 قتلى من الجانبين وإصابة نحو 15 آخرين بينهم مدنيون.
ولم تعلن أي جهة مسؤوليتها عن العملية ولم تصدر السلطات الأمنية بعدن إفادة رسمية بشأنه
