The new Turkish ambassador to Algeria Mehmet Mucahid Küçük Yılmaz revealed on Wednesday that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will soon visit Algeria.
Ambassador Küçük Yılmaz after presenting his credentials to Algerian President ‘Abd al-Mağīd Tabbūn said: “we shall receive President Erdoğan soon here, in Algeria”.
The diplomat pointed out that the frequency of such official meetings is proof of the high level that the bilateral ties have reached between Türkiye and Algeria.
On 7 September Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan confirmed that Turkish-Algerian relations reached a strategic level, announcing that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will visit Algeria within the next few months.
He pointed out that the strategic framework that took form in the diplomatic engagement, dialogue, and heavy work suggested by the presidents of the two countries, Erdoğan and Tabbūn was a major actor in the formation of the work plan for the foreign ministers of the two countries.
Tabbūn had paid a work visit to Türkiye in July and held negotiations with Erdoğan. At that time the two presidents expressed that they were content with the level of relations between the two countries, especially after that bilateral trade exchange had risen to $5 billion.
In June the Algerian President and his Turkish colleague confirmed their intent to strengthen the bilateral ties between the two countries.
Last year Tabbūn visited Türkiye and met with his Turkish colleague, confirming “the readiness of his country to improve the relations on various fields, serving the people of the two friendly countries”.

كشف سفير تركيا الجديد لدى الجزائر محمد مجاهد كوتشوك يلماز، يوم الأربعاء، أن الرئيس التركي رجب طيب إردوغان سيزور الجزائر قريباً.
وقال السفير كوتشوك يلماز عقب تسليمه أوراق اعتماده للرئيس الجزائري عبد المجيد تبون: “سنستقبل الرئيس إردوغان هنا بالجزائر قريباً”.
وأشار الدبلوماسي إلى أن كثافة هذه الزيارات الرسمية دليل على المستوى الرفيع الذي بلغته العلاقات الثنائية بين تركيا والجزائر.
وفي 7 أيلول/سبتمبر الجاري، أكد وزير الخارجية التركي هاكان فيدان أن العلاقات التركية الجزائرية ارتقت إلى المستوى الاستراتيجي، معلناً عن زيارة للرئيس رجب طيب إردوغان إلى الجزائر خلال الأشهر المقبلة.
ولفت إلى أن الإطار الاستراتيجي الذي برز في سياق الدبلوماسية والحوار والعمل المكثف الذي طرحه رئيسا البلدين، إردوغان وتبون، شكّل عنصراً مهماً في تحديد مسار عمل وزيري خارجية البلدين.
وكان تبون قد قام بزيارة عمل إلى تركيا في تموز/يوليو الماضي، ,عقد محادثات مع إردوغان، وعبّر آنذاك الرئيسان عن ارتياحهما لمستوى العلاقات بين البلدين، ولا سيما بعد ارتفاع حجم التجارة الثنائية إلى 5 مليارات دولار.
وفي حزيران/يونيو، أكد الرئيس الجزائري ونظيره التركي سعيهما إلى تعزيز العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين.
وفي العام الفائت، زار تبون تركيا، والتقى نظيره التركي، مؤكداً “استعداد بلاده لتطويرها في مختلف الميادين، لما فيه خدمة شعبي البلدين الصديقين
