Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavušoğlu says that “Türkiye will not take any political gains from the meeting between the Turkish and the Syrian presidents, nor from any ministerial-level meetings.
On Monday Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavušoğlu said that the ministerial meeting about Syria will be held in Moscow in May.
Çavušoğlu in an interview with the “Haber” Turkish channel said that his country will not take any political gains from the meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Syrian President Baššār al-Asad, nor from any ministerial-level meeting.
The Turkish Foreign Minister has pointed out that during the meeting of the foreign ministers in Moscow in May preparations will be made for a meeting between the Turkish and the Syrian presidents.
He pointed out that “the roadmap concerning Syria contains having a meeting between the leadership of Türkiye, Syria, Russia, and Iran”.
Russian Ambassador to Syria Alexander Yefimov revealed on Sunday that the date for the four-party meeting between the foreign ministers of Russia, Syria, Türkiye, and Iran had been postponed to May.
Yefimov underlined that the track of normalizing the relations between Syria and Türkiye is long and not all matters, or questions can be discussed in one session or in more discussions.
Damascus has been asking for obtaining Turkish guarantees to withdraw from its territories before any political meeting between the two parties at the same negotiating table.
A few days ago the president of the Syrian negotiating team Deputy Foreign Minister Ayman Sūsān had confirmed by Türkiye announcing officially, though somewhat unequivocally that it will withdraw all its forces from all Syria lands is “the entrance to restoring communications between the two sides”.
Last week a four-party meeting was held between the deputy foreign ministers of Syria, Russia, Iran, and Türkiye at the guest palace of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow in order to discuss how to bring the viewpoints closer between Ankara and Damascus.
In December last year, Russia hosted the first negotiations between the Turkish and Syrian defense ministers since the war broke out against Syria in 2011 and turmoil resulted from it in the relations between the two neighboring countries. During the meeting the participants studied the ways to solve the Syrian crisis and the problem of the refugees, but also the joint efforts to combat terrorism in Syria.
Syria was concentrating on 3 main points in its four-party meetings with Russia, Iran, and Türkiye. These are the need for ending the illegal Turkish presence on Syrian soil, not interfering in Syrian internal affairs, and combating terrorism in all its forms.
In a separate note, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavušoğlu said that Türkiye may set up a timetable for reinstating the ambassadors between Egypt and Türkiye during the Foreign Minister of Egypt to Ankara in the next few days.
Çavušoğlu pointed out that “President Erdoğan and (Egyptian) President ( ‘Abd al-Fattāḥ) as-Sīsī might meet following the Turkish elections”.
A few days ago Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavušoğlu has announced that his Egyptian counterpart Sāmiḥ Šukrī will visit Türkiye during this Ramadan.
It should be removed red that the relations between Egypt and Türkiye have only recently improved, knowing that they plummeted after Egyptian President ‘Abd al-Fattāḥ as-Sīsī gained the presidency in 2013 after removing the previous president Muḥammad Mursī, for whom Ankara was one of its biggest supporters.

وزير الخارجية التركي يكشف موعد تحديد اللقاء بين الأسد وإردوغان

وزير الخارجية التركي، مولود جاويش أوغلو، يقول إنّ “تركيا لن تحقق أيّ مكاسب سياسية من اللقاء بين الرئيسين التركي والسوري، أو أيّ لقاء على مستوى الوزراء
أكّد وزير الخارجية التركي، مولود جاويش أوغلو، اليوم الاثنين، أنّ الاجتماع الوزاري بشأن سوريا سيُعقَد في موسكو، في أيار/مايو المقبل.
وقال جاويش أوغلو، في مقابلةٍ مع قناة “أيه خبر” التركية، إنّ بلاده لن تحقق أيّ مكاسب سياسية من اللقاء بين الرئيسين التركي رجب طيب إردوغان والسوري بشار الأسد، أو أيّ لقاء على مستوى الوزراء.
وأشار وزير الخارجية التركي إلى أنّه سيجري، خلال اجتماع وزراء الخارجية، في موسكو في أيار/مايو المقبل، التحضير للقاء بين الرئيسين التركي والسوري، .
ولفت إلى أنّ “خريطة الطريق الخاصة بسوريا تتضمن عقد لقاء بين قادة تركيا وسوريا وروسيا وإيران”.
وكان السفير الروسي لدى سوريا، ألكسندر يفيموف، كشف، أمس الأحد، تأجيل موعد انعقاد الاجتماع الرباعي على مستوى وزراء خارجية روسيا وسوريا وتركيا وإيران، إلى الشهر المقبل.
وشدد يفيموف على أن مسار تطبيع العلاقات بين سوريا وتركيا طويل، ولا يمكن حل جميع الملفات والمسائل ومناقشتها في جولة واحدة أو أكثر من المفاوضات.
وتطلب دمشق الحصول على ضمانات تركية بالانسحاب من أراضيها قبل أي لقاء سياسي يجمع الطرفين إلى طاولة مباحثات واحدة.
وقبل أيام، أكّد رئيس الوفد السوري إلى موسكو، معاون وزير الخارجية والمغتربين، أيمن سوسان، أنّ إعلان تركيا رسمياً، على نحو لا لبس فيه، أنّها ستسحب قواتها من الأراضي السورية كافةً، هو “المدخل لإعادة التواصل بين الجانبين”.
والأسبوع الماضي، عُقد اجتماعٌ رباعي لمعاوني وزراء خارجية سوريا وروسيا وإيران وتركيا، في قصر الضيافة التابع لوزارة الخارجية الروسية في موسكو، من أجل البحث في تقريب وجهات النظر بين أنقرة ودمشق.
واستضافت روسيا، في كانون الأول/ديسمبر الماضي، أول محادثات بين وزيري الدفاع التركي والسوري منذ اندلاع الحرب على سوريا عام 2011، وما نجم عنها من توتر في العلاقات بين الدولتين الجارتين. وبحث خلاله المجتمعون في سبل حلّ الأزمة السورية، ومشكلة اللاجئين، والجهود المشتركة لمحاربة الإرهاب في سوريا.
وتركّز سوريا على 3 نقاط أساسية في اجتماعها الرباعي مع روسيا وإيران وتركيا، هي ضرورة إنهاء الوجود التركي غير الشرعي في الأراضي السورية، وعدم التدخل في الشؤون الداخلية السورية، ومكافحة الإرهاب، في كل أشكاله.
وفي سياقٍ منفصل، قال وزير الخارجية التركي، مولود جاويش أوغلو، إنّ تركيا قد تحدد جدولاً زمنياً لعودة السفراء بين مصر وتركيا خلال زيارة وزير خارجية مصر لأنقرة في الأيام المُقبلة.
وأشار جاويش أوغلو إلى أنّ “الرئيسين إردوغان و(المصري عبد الفتاج) السيسي قد يلتقيان عقب الانتخابات التركية”.
وقبل أيام، أعلن وزير الخارجية التركي، مولود جاويش أوغلو، أنّ نظيره المصري، سامح شكري، سيزور تركيا خلال شهر رمضان الجاري.
يُذكَر أنّ العلاقات بين مصر وتركيا لم تتحسن إلّا مؤخراً، علماً بأنها توتّرت بعد وصول الرئيس المصري، عبد الفتاح السيسي، إلى الرئاسة في عام 2013، في إثر إطاحته الرئيس السابق، محمد مرسي، الذي كانت أنقرة من أبرز داعميه
