The Israeli “Channel 12l reveals new investigations about the events of the 7 October that show “the Iron Dome system failed” and two other worrisome matters about it.

On Sunday that Israeli Channel 12 mentioned operational investigations that were shown to Chief of Staff Hertzi Halevy about the air defense formations during the events of 7 October “showing the failure of the Iron Dome”.
The military correspondent of the Israeli channel said that “the Israeli air defense formation that was applied routinely found it difficult to deal with the missiles salvos on 7 October against the sudden attack of Ḥamās”.
He added: “the operational investigations that were shown to the Chief of Staff about the air defense formations showed two worrisome matters. The first is the a number of Iron Dome batteries around the Gaza belt was not operational in the first minutes of the attack, because it’s precision cannot be extended”. He added that this means that “there was no repelling of missiles by these batteries at all during the first minutes”.
As for the second matter, that was according to the military correspondent “that it was very difficult to arm the batteries again because of the fighters infiltrating from Gaza to inside”.
He continued that this “did not happen in a free time, but in light of an unprecedented missile attack, where the air defense formation was in a routine fashion, because there was no intelligence warning about the attack”.
Also that “with all passing hours the missiles were increasing in number, as in the first four hours 3700 missiles were fired from the Gaza Strip, only in the first ten minutes 1014 were fired”. This led to “many batteries becoming empty of ammunition with each passing hour”. This according to the correspondent of Channel 12.
In result of this “half of the missiles that were fired from Gaza towards the inhabited areas were not repelled and hundreds of missiles fell onto the neighborhoods of the Gaza belt”.
The military correspondent concluded that the main lesson about the air defense formation is “the bigger number of batteries, even in standard situation against the possibility of being surprised from an intelligence point of view as well”.

ذكرت “القناة 12” الإسرائيلية، اليوم الأحد، أنّ التحقيقات العملانية التي عُرضت على رئيس. الأركان، هرتسي هاليفي، بخصوص تشكيل الدفاع الجوي خلال أحداث 7 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر، “تُظهر فشل منظومة القبة الحديدية”.
وقال المراسل العسكري في القناة الإسرائيلية إنّ “تشكيل الدفاع الجوي الإسرائيلي الذي كان في. حالة روتين، وجد صعوبة في التعامل مع الرشقات الصاروخية في 7 أكتوبر، مقابل هجوم حماس المفاجئ”.
وأضاف: “التحقيقات العملانية التي عرضت على رئيس الأركان بخصوص تشكيل الدفاع الجوي، أظهرت قضيتين مقلقتين. الأولى هي عدم عمل عدة بطاريات قبّة حديدية في غلاف غزة، خلال الدقائق. الأولى للهجوم، لسبب لا يمكن التوسيع بخصوصه”، مضيفاً أنّ معنى ذلك هو أنّه “لم يحدث اعتراض للصواريخ من هذه البطاريات أبداً خلال تلك الدقائق”.
أمّا القضية الثانية، فهي أنّه “كان من الصعب جداً تسليح البطاريات من جديد، بسبب تسلل المقاتلين من. غزة إلى الداخل”، وفق المراسل العسكري.
وتابع أنّ ذلك “لم يحدث في وقت فارغ، بل في ظلّ هجوم صاروخي غير مسبوق، حيث كان تشكيل الدفاع. الجوي في حالة روتين، لأنّه لم يحصل على إنذار استخباري بشأن الهجوم”.
و”كلما كانت تمرّ الساعات، كانت تزيد الصواريخ، حيث أطلق في الساعات الأربع الأولى 3700 صاروخ. على الغلاف، بعدما كان قد أُطلق في الدقائق العشرين الأولى فقط 1014 صاروخاً”، ما أدّى إلى “إفراغ. المزيد من البطاريات من الذخيرة كلما مرّت الساعات”، بحسب مراسل “القناة 12”.
ونتيجة ذلك، فإنّ “نصف الصواريخ التي أُطلقت من غزة نحو مناطق مسكونة لم. يتمّ اعتراضها، أي سقوط مئات الصواريخ في أحياء غلاف غزة”.
وخلص المراسل العسكري إلى أنّ العبرة المركزية في تشكيل الدفاع الجوي هي “عدد أكبر من. بطاريات القبة الحديدية، حتى في حالة الروتين، مقابل احتمال أن نُفاجئ من الناحية الاستخبارية أيضاً
