The Iranian Fars Agency reveals details about the attempt of the Israeli Occupation to assassinate major Iranian officials, including the leaders of the three authorities.

The Iranian Fars Agency revealed details about the attempt of the Israeli Occupation to assassinate an number of major Iranian officials, including the leaders of the three authorities only few days after the aggression started against the country.

About the details the agency reported, the Israeli attack with the aim of assassinating President Mas‘ūd Pezeškiyān, Speaker of the Consultative Council Moḥammad Bāqer Qālībāf and President of the Judicial Authority Ġolām-Ḥosseyn Moḥsen Īğeī, while these three in addition to a number of other major officials were present at a session of the Supreme National Security Council.

The session was held before noon at Monday 16, meaning 3 days after the aggression had started, and in the lower levels of one of the buildings in Western Tehran.

The Israeli attack’s plans, according to what the agency reported, was drawn up in a similar way to the attack that led to the martyrdom of as-Sayyid Ḥasan Naṣr Allah.

In this context the Fars agency explained that the Occupation targeted the entrances and exits of the building in which the leaders and the officials were present by firing 6 missiles and bombs with the aim of closing all passages of leaving and and cutting the airflow.

After the explosions that was caused by the attack the electricity was cut for that floor, yet the officials managed to exit the building through an emergency exit that was prepared.

Some of the officials, including Pezeškiyān, suffered light injuries on his leg during the exit.

Considering the precision of the information the Occupation had while carrying out this attack there is still an investigation about the possibility that there might be infiltrators, or cooperation from within. Thus according to the Fars agency.

The agency added that this incident shows that the Israeli Occupation “does not shy from using method, even assassinating high officials, only to cause harm to the Iranian national security”.

Deputy Director of the Iranian Presidential Office Mehdī Ṭabāṭabā’ī had confirmed that the Israeli Occupation tried to carry out an assassination targeting a number of Iranian leaders, including Pezeškiyān.

Talking to al-Mayadeen on Thursday Ṭabāṭabā’ī explained that the attack took place while Pezeškiyān attended a meeting with military leaders during the war, pointing out that the explosion caused by the attack was very big.
