Algerian President ‘Abd al-Mağīd Tabbūn says that his country will not be tolerant with “acts of agitation and indecent activities” coming from “separatist” sides and movements close to “terrorism”.
Algerian President ‘Abd al-Mağīd Tabbūn warned that the authorities will not be tolerant with what was recorded as acts of agitation and dangerous disinformation by certain forums exploiting the weekly demonstrations.
A statement by the presidency pointed out that Tabbūn headed a meeting of the Supreme Security Council during which what was registered as acts of agitation and disinformation by certain separatist circles was studied.
Since the announcement by the Algerian president about the early legislative elections there are protests criticizing the elections without consideration for the demands of the protest movement.
The statement added that Tabbūn “listened to the remarks of the Supreme Security Council’s members about the matters listed in the schedule and praised the efforts taken by the state institutions preparing the legislative elections scheduled for 12 July.
It pointed out that “the Supreme Security Council also studied what was registered as acts of agitation and dangerous disinformation by separatist circles and illegal movements based on beliefs close to terrorism exploiting the weekly protests”.
According to the statement, Tabbūn underlined that the state “will not be tolerant with this disinformation, which has nothing in common with democracy and human rights”. Upon that he ordered “immediate and swift use of the law and putting and to the far from innocent activities, and unprecedented excesses which are targeting the state institutions and its representatives in order to disturb the path of democracy in Algeria”.

بيان للرئاسة أشار الى أنّ تبون ترأس اجتماعاً للمجلس الأعلى للأمن تمّ خلاله درس ما سجّل من أعمال تحريضية وانحرافات من قبل أوساط انفصالية
ومنذ إعلان الرئيس الجزائري عن انتخابات تشريعية مبكّرة تخرج تظاهرات مندّدة بالانتخابات من دون مراعاة لمطالب الحركة الاحتجاجية
وأضاف البيان أن تبون “استمع لمداخلات أعضاء المجلس الأعلى للأمن، حول المسائل المدرجة في جدول الأعمال، وأشاد بالمجهودات التي تبذلها مؤسسات الدولة تحضيرا للانتخابات التشريعية المقررة في 12 حزيران/يونيو
وأشار إلى أن “المجلس الأعلى للأمن درس أيضا ما سُجّل من أعمال تحريضية وانحرافات خطيرة من قبل أوساط انفصالية، وحركات غير شرعية ذات مرجعية قريبة من الإرهاب، تستغل المسيرات الأسبوعية
وبحسب البيان، شدد تبون على أن الدولة “لن تتسامح مع هذه الانحرافات التي لا تمت بصلة للديمقراطية وحقوق الإنسان”، حيث أمر “بالتطبيق الفوري والصارم للقانون، ووضع حد لهذه النشاطات غير البريئة، والتجاوزات غير المسبوقة، لا سيما تجاه مؤسسات الدولة ورموزها، والتي تحاول عرقلة المسار الديمقراطي في الجزائر
