Director of Reuters Iraq office Timour Azhari on Monday cited an American official saying that the American ‘Ayn al-Asad base in Iraq had been targeted by a drone attack.

Azhari mentioned that there were no reports about casualties or damages, pointing out that this attack was the second one against the American forces in Iraq in less then 24 hours.

Iraqi Prime Minister Muḥammad Šayyā‘ as-Sūdānī last week with American Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin in the Pentagon has discussed the suggested time table to end the duty of the International Coalition against the Dā‘iš organization.

As-Sūdānī underlined that the Iraqi security services today are on high level of preparedness to fulfill their duties, confirming “that the work has started about a partnership relation within the session of the Supreme Coordination Committee to evaluate the military situation and the dangers of Dā‘iš and the capabilities of the security services to reach suggestions about the timetable to end the duty of the Coalition”.

On his behalf Austin confirmed “his commitment” that want Iraq does fighting against terrorism expresses the expectations of his country to “set up a sustainable security relation with Iraq”.

Earlier the Iraqi Islamic Resistance had confirmed that there is no value in substituting the American Occupation in name sometimes as “Coalition”, while other times to “sustainable security partnership”, or to something else “as long as it’s criminal occupying forces is bleeding out Iraq, infringes on its sovereignty, violates its airspace and holds control over the security deliberations there”.

أفاد مدير مكتب “رويترز” في العراق، تيمور أزهري، اليوم الاثنين، نقلاً عن مسؤول أميركي، أنه. تم استهداف قاعدة عين الأسد الأميركية في العراق، عبر هجوم بطائرة مسيّرة.

وذكر أزهري أنّه لم ترد أيّ أنباء عن وقوع إصاباتٍ أو أضرار، مشيراً إلى أنّ هذا الهجوم هو الثاني. ضد القوات الأميركية في العراق في أقلّ من 24 ساعة. 

وكان رئيس الحكومة العراقية، محمد شياع السوداني، قد بحث، الأسبوع الماضي، مع وزير الدفاع الأميركي، لويد. أوستن، في “البنتاغون” مقترحات جدول زمني، لإنهاء مهمة التحالف الدولي ضد تنظيم “داعش”.

وشدّد السوداني، على أنّ الأجهزة الأمنية العراقية اليوم على مستوى عالٍ من الجاهزية للقيام بمهامها، مؤكّداً “بدء. العمل نحو علاقة شراكة من خلال اللجنة التنسيقية العليا لتقييم الموقف العسكري ومخاطر. داعش، وقدرات الأجهزة الأمنية، للوصول إلى مقترحات تتعلّق بجدول زمني لإنهاء مهمة التحالف”.

من جانبه، أكّد أوستن “الالتزام” بما يقوم به العراق في مواجهة الإرهاب، معبّراً. عن تطلّع بلاده إلى “إقامة علاقة أمنية مستدامة مع العراق”.

وفي وقتٍ سابق، أكّدت المقاومة الإسلامية في العراق، أن لا قيمة لاستبدال. الاحتلال الأميركي لمسمّياته تارةً بـ”تحالف”، وأخرى بـ”شراكة أمنية مستدامة”، أو غيرها، “ما دامت قواته المحتلة جاثمةً على صدر العراق الجريح، تستبيح سيادته، وتنتهك أجواءه، وتسيطر على القرار الأمني فيه
