Sources in Damascus and Cairo mentioned that preparations are going on between the two capitals to arrange a direct contact between Syrian President Baššār al-Asad and Egyptian President ‘Abd al-Fattāḥ as-Sīsī, which would be the first of such event between the two presidents.

According to sources to “Ra’y al-Yawm” there will be direct contact and discussion via telephone to discuss the bilateral relations between the two countries.
The sources claimed that there will be high ranking diplomatic representation between the two countries, and that this the main matter of this contact, in addition to other matters, like relaunching the Egyptian-Syrian Supreme Joint Council, which ceased its activities with the war in Syria some ten years ago, and the matter of exporting Egyptian natural gas to Lebanon, via Syria, or the developments in the regional level.
The first meeting on foreign ministerial level after a cessation of ten years happened between Syrian Foreign Minister Fayṣal al-Miqdād and his Egyptian counterpart Sāmiḥ aš-Šukrī on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly last month.
Press sources said that Cairo asked Ankara to withdraw from Syria as a precondition to normalize the Turkish-Egyptian relations during a negotiation between the two countries with the aim to once again bring the two countries closer and mend the differences.

تحضيرات لتواصل مباشر بين الرئيسين الأسد والسيسي

ذكرت مصادر في دمشق والقاهرة أن تحضيرات تجري بين العاصمتين لإنجاز تواصل مباشر بين الرئيس السوري بشار الأسد والرئيس المصري عبد الفتاح السيسي في سابقة هي الأولى بين الرئيسين.
ووفق مصادر لـ “رأي اليوم” سيكون التواصل والحوار المباشر عبر الهاتف لبحث العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين.
ورجّحت المصادر ان يكون رفع مستوى التمثيل الدبلوماسي بين البلدين هو جوهر هذا التواصل بالإضافة الى قضايا أخرى مثل إعادة احياء اللجنة العليا المشتركة السورية المصرية والتي توقفت اعمالها مع بداية الحرب الارهابية في سوريا قبل عشرة أعوام وكذلك موضوع استجرار الغاز المصري عبر سوريا الى لبنان، والمستجدات على صعيد الإقليم.
وكان أول لقاء على مستوى وزراء الخارجية بعد قطيعة لعشر سنوات حصل بين وزير الخارجية السورية فيصل المقداد ونظيره المصري سامح شكري على هامش اجتماعات الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة الشهر الماضي.
وقالت تقارير صحيفة إن القاهرة كانت قد طلبت من انقرة الانسحاب من سوريا كشرط لتطبيع العلاقات المصرية التركية اثناء الحوار بين البلدين بهدف عودة التقارب وإزالة الخلافات.
