The Ministers of the Amal Movement and Ḥizb Allah duo and Minister Fādī Makkī withdrew from the session of the Lebanese government on Friday discussing the army plan to implement the sole possession of weapons that was presented by Commander of the Arms Rudolf Haykal.

The minister of the Amal Movement and Ḥizb Allah and in addition the fifth Shiī Minister Fādī Makkī withdrew from the room of session of the Lebanese government dedicated discuss the arms plan about the sole possessed of the arms in the hands of the government and they left the Ba‘abdā Presidential Palace.

The ministers had withdrawn from the session to adjacent room before completely leaving the Presidential Palace.

Minister of Administrative Development Fādī Makkī hasn’t presented a written resignation. But he addressed the President saying: “if the matter calls for it I hand in my resignation to your Excellence”. Thus according to the correspondent explained.

Minister Makkī later on himself stated that in his resignation from the government “served the national interest” he is ready to present it to the President and to the Prime Minister, calling upon the ministers and the political leaders to discuss the plan of sole arms possession under the umbrella of the ministerial statement “that which we all had agreed to”.

Makkī also called for “discuss the ongoing event, the matter of national interest, the matter of the South and the social peace above all other considerations”.

He continued: “as for me facing the current situation and the withdrawal of a main component I cannot handle the burden of such decision and I decided to withdraw from the governmental session”.

The Lebanese ministerial session had opened on Friday afternoon in a session to discuss the plan that the army was tasked with to prepare for the sole possession of arms with additional environmental, financial and other energy related elements on its schedule.

The correspondent of al-Mayadeen had reported that the minister of the Amal Movement and Ḥizb Allah duo will not discuss the plan of the Lebanese army, as it is “an implementation tool for the government decision not based on the national accord”, according to their expression.

The correspondent reported that Commander of the Army Brigadier General Rudolf Haykal had joined the session in its beginning to present the army plan.

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawāf Salām had announced shortly after the governmental session on 5 August tasking the arms to put forward an implementation plan about the sole possession of arms in the hands of the state before the end of the year as a final deadline at the end of last month.

That session also saw the withdrawal of the ministers of Ḥizb Allah and the Amal Movement protesting against the decision.

انسحب وزراء حركة أمل وحزب الله الـ 4، إضافة إلى الوزير الشيعي. الخامس فادي مكّي من قاعة جلسة الحكومة اللبنانية، المخصّصة لمناقشة خطة الجيش بشأن حصرية السلاح بيد. الدولة، وغادروا القصر الرئاسي ببعبدا

وزير التنمية الإدارية فادي مكّي لم يقدّم الاستقالة خطياً، لكنه توجّه. إلى رئيس الجمهورية قائلاً: “إذا تطلّب الأمر أضع استقالتي في عهدتك”، حسبما أوضح مراسلنا.

وعاد الوزير مكّي وصرّح بنفسه أنه إذا كانت استقالته من الحكومة “تحقّق. المصلحة الوطنية”، فإنه مستعدّ أن يضعها بتصرّف رئيسي الجمهورية والحكومة، داعياً الوزراء والمرجعيات السياسية إلى مناقشة خطة. حصر السلاح تحت سقف البيان الوزاري “الذي توافقنا جميعاً عليه”.

كذلك دعا مكّي إلى “النقاش بروية وتأنٍ ووضع مصلحة الوطن. والجنوب والسلم الأهلي فوق أي اعتبار آخر”.

وتابع: “إنني أمام الوضع الراهن، وانسحاب مكوّن أساسي، لا أستطيع. أن أتحمّل وزر قرار كهذا، وقرّرت الانسحاب من جلسة الحكومة”.

وافتتح مجلس الوزراء اللبناني، عصر اليوم الجمعة، جلسة لمناقشة الخطة. التي كُلّف الجيش بإعدادها لحصر السلاح، وعلى جدول أعمالها بنود إضافية، بيئية ومالية وأخرى متعلّقة بالطاقة

وكان مراسل الميادين قد أفاد بأنّ وزراء الثنائي حركة أمل وحزب الله لن. يناقشوا خطة الجيش اللبناني لأنها “أداة تنفيذية لقرار حكومي غير ميثاقي” على حدّ تعبيرهم.

كما أفاد مراسلنا بأنّ قائد الجيش العماد رودولف هيكل كان قد انضمّ إلى. الجلسة، في بدايتها، لاستعراض خطة الجيش.

وكان رئيس الحكومة اللبناني، نواف سلام، قد أعلن بعيد جلسة الحكومة. في 5 آب/أغسطس الماضي، تكليف  الجيش بوضع خطة تطبيقية بشأن حصر السلاح بيد الدولة قبل نهاية العام الحالي، في. مهلة تنتهي في الآخر من الشهر الماضي.
