Leader of the aṣ-Ṣadrī Movement in Iraq Muqtadā aṣ-Ṣadr says that “the dissolution of the Iraqi Parliament has become an unexchangeable popular, political and elite demand” and talks about “a popular and a tribal response by some of the Kurdish, Sunni and even Shia political leaders”.
Leader of the aṣ-Ṣadrī Movement in Iraq Muqtadā aṣ-Ṣadr confirmed on Saturday that “dissolving the parliament has become an unexchangeable popular, political and elite demand”.
Aṣ-Ṣadr said in a statement posted on his official Twitter account that “By the grace and blessing of God and the efforts in line with the heroes there has been positive responses about dissolving the parliament while also similar popular and the tribal responses by the Kurdish, Sunni and even Shia leaders”.
He added: Yes! The dissolution of the parliament has become an unexchangeable popular, political and elite demand to extinguish all cries of the corrupt, wherever they are”.
Aṣ-Ṣadr in his statement called upon the political and civil society leaders to “a clear stance to save Iraq from the clutches of corruption and its followers and to correct the path of the political process, which suffered harm in the country”.

In this context President of the al-Fatḥ Coalition Hādī al-‘Āmirī on Friday announced its support “to hold early elections” in Iraq, as aṣ-Ṣadr called for it, while the Popular Mobilization (al-Ḥašd aš-Ša‘abī) Organization described aṣ-Ṣadr’s speech as “disrespectful for the holy warriors”.
Meanwhile the Sayyid aš-Šuhadā’ Battalion in Iraq confirmed that “no renewal for Prime Minister Muṣṭafā al-Kāẓimī under any circumstances”, urging “a meeting by the Emergency Conciliatory Framework for a meeting, which amongst it most important decisions agreed not to renew al-Kāẓimī and refused his remain as part of a settlement in the next period”.
Few days ago aṣ-Ṣadr demanded “early elections after the dissolution of the current parliament”, adding that “no point for negotiating, especially after the people said their word. We tried to reason with them and it brought only destruction and corruption to the country”.
The leader of the aṣ-Ṣadrī Movement explained that he “hasn’t decided yet to take a new election or not”, saying that it is not “a demand of power and I have no personal interests, but I want reform”.
Thousands of aṣ-Ṣadr’s supporters are protesting a week ago inside the Iraqi parliament in the Green Zone, where governmental and diplomatic headquarters are.
The protesters broke out after the “Conciliatory Framework” alliance agreed on the candidacy of Muḥammad Šayyā‘ as-Sūdānī to the post of Prime Minister in the future. The supporters of the “Conciliatory Framework” protested at the entrance of the Green Zone and raised the slogan “support for legality, and preserving the constitution”.

زعيم التيار الصدري في العراق، مقتدى الصدر، يقول إنّ “حلّ البرلمان بات مطلباً شعبياً وسياسياً ونخبوياً، لا بديل عنه”، ويتحدث عن “تجاوب شعبي وتجاوب عشائري، ومن بعض القيادات السياسية الكردية والسنية وحتى الشيعية”.
أكّد زعيم التيار الصدري في العراق، مقتدى الصدر، اليوم السبت، أنّ “حلّ البرلمان بات مطلباً شعبياً وسياسياً ونخبوياً، لا بديل عنه”.
وقال الصدر، في بيان نشره عبر حسابه الرسمي في موقع “تويتر”، إنه “بفضل الله ونعمته وجهود المعتصمين الأبطال، جاءت ردود إيجابية فيما يخصّ حلّ البرلمان، وتجاوب شعبي وتجاوب عشائري، ومن بعض القيادات السياسية الكردية والسنية، وحتى الشيعية أيضاً”.
وأضاف: “نعم، بات حلّ البرلمان مطلباً شعبياً وسياسياً ونخبوياً، لا بديل عنه، ولتسكتْ كلّ أفواه الفاسدين أينما كانوا”.
ودعا الصدر، في بيانه، القيادات السياسية ومؤسسات المجتمع المدني إلى “وقفة جادّة لإنقاذ العراق من أنياب الفساد والتبعية، وتصحيح مسار العملية السياسية، التي أضرّت بالبلاد”.
وضمن هذا السياق، أعلن رئيس تحالف الفتح في العراق، هادي العامري، أمس الجمعة، تأييده “إجراء انتخابات مبكرة” في العراق، كان دعا إليها الصدر، بينما وصفت هيئة “الحشد الشعبي” خطاب الصدر بأنّه “منصف بحق مجاهديها”.
كما أكدت كتائب سيد الشهداء في العراق أن “لا تجديد لرئيس الوزراء العراقي، مصطفى الكاظمي، تحت أيّ ظرفٍ كان”، مثنية على “اجتماع الإطار التنسيقي الطارئ، والذي كان من أهم مقرراته الاتفاق على عدم التجديد للكاظمي،ـ ورفض إبقائه رئيساً للتسوية في المرحلة المقبلة”.
وكان الصدر طالب، في كلمةٍ له منذ أيام، “بانتخاباتٍ مبكّرة بعد حلّ البرلمان الحالي”، مضيفاً أن “لا فائدة من الحوار، وخصوصاً بعد أن قال الشعب كلمته. جرّبنا الحوار معهم ولم يجلب إلى البلد إلّا الخراب والفساد”.
وأوضح زعيم التيار الصدري أنّه “لم يقرر خوض الانتخابات الجديدة أو عدمه”، قائلاً إنه ليس “طالب سلطة، وليست لدي مغانم شخصية، لكنني أطلب الإصلاح”.
ويعتصم الآلاف من مناصري الصدر، منذ أسبوع، داخل البرلمان العراقي، في المنطقة الخضراء، التي تضمّ مقارّ حكومية ودبلوماسية.
