The Iraqi Head of Government orders opening an immediate investigation about the mistake by the commission to freeze the assets of the terrorists and conforms the form position of Iraq towards Lebanon and Palestine.

On Thursday the office of Iraqi Prime Minister Muḥammad Šayyā‘ as-Sūdānī announced that what was presented in the report of the commission to “freeze the assets of terrorists” in its texts represented unrealistic positions, confirming that the Prime Minister ordered conducting an immediate investigation and to outline those responsible for the mistake present in the commission’s report.
The statement of the office added that Iraq’s decision to freeze assets, based on the request of Malaysia, was restricted to entities and individuals linked to the two organizations of “Dā‘iš” and “al-Qā‘ida”.
The statement pointed out that “the positions of the Iraqi government about the aggression against our people in Lebanon and Palestine are positions based on principles, not subject to biddings and reflect the will of our people”. It also underlined that “none of the trolls, or philosophers can alter our position that had always took the side of the historical rights of the owners of the land”.
In the same context sources of al-Mayadeen Plus had revealed that the commission to freeze the assets of terrorists would hold an emergency meeting on Thursday and will focus on correcting the mistake in the reports regarding the funds of the terrorist organizations, and it will also erase the paragraphs that was to freeze the funds of the a number of parties and international organizations that had appeared “as an oversight” in the first report.
The statement by the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office came after earlier on Wednesday it was published that according to the official Iraqi state journal Iraq had designated Ḥizb Allah in Lebanon and the Anṣār Allah in Yemen as “terrorist groups” and froze their financial assets.

أعلن مكتب رئيس الوزراء العراقي، محمد شياع السوداني، اليوم الخميس، أن ما ورد. في قرار لجنة “تجميد أموال الإرهابيين” من نصوصٍ عكست مواقف غير حقيقية، مؤكداً أن رئيس الوزراء أمر بإجراء تحقيق عاجل. وتحديد المسؤولية في الخطأ الوارد بقرار اللجنة.
وأضاف بيان المكتب، أن موافقة العراق على تجميد الأموال، بناءً على طلب ماليزيا، اقتصرت. على الكيانات والأفراد المرتبطين بتنظيمي “داعش” و”القاعدة
كما لفت البيان إلى أن “مواقف الحكومة العراقية من العدوان على أهلنا في لبنان وفلسطين. هي مواقف مبدئية لا تخضع للمزايدات وتعكس إرادة شعبنا”، مشدّداً على أن “لا أحد من المتصيدين والمفلسين يمكنه المزايدة على. مواقفنا التي برهنت دائماً على الحقوق التاريخية لأصحاب الأرض”.
في السياق، كشفت مصادر “الميادين بلاس” أنّ لجنة تجميد أموال الإرهابيين. ستعقد اجتماعاً طارئاً اليوم، وستعمد إلى إصلاح الخطأ في القرار المتعلق بأموال التنظيمات الإرهابية، كما ستحذف فقرات تجميد الأموال لعدد. من الأحزاب والكيانات الدولية الواردة “سهواً” في القرار الأول.
