As-Sīsī and as-Sūdānī agree on the need for a decrease in the regional tension and underline the need for the pressure by the international community to set up a calming and ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

On Tuesday Egyptian President ‘Abd al-Fattāḥ as-Sīsī received Iraqi Prime Minister Muḥammad Šayyā‘ as-Sūdānī, who took an official visit to Egypt.
As-Sūdānī started his visit leading a high level Iraqi delegation that included the Deputy Foreign Minister, the Trade Minister and a number of high level Iraqi officials meeting with Egyptian Prime Minister Muṣṭafā Madbūlī, the ministers of foreign affairs, residence, investment and petrol.
Official spokesman of the Egyptian Presidential Office Aḥmad Fahmī explained that the Egyptian President is “dedicated to reassure the full support of Egypt to the Iraqi unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity”, and also the support of Cairo to the efforts to achieve stability, security and development and to strengthen the ties with its Arab neighbors.
According to Fahmī the two leaders also agreed that “the current conditions require increased joint Arab work on the bilateral and multilateral levels”. The meeting also addressed the matter of the current bilateral cooperation between the two states, especially in regards to the present efforts to increase the mutual and joint investments and the cooperation on the fields of constructional development, energy, industry and others with the aim of profiting the most suitable way from the resources of the two countries achieving the interests of the two peoples.
The official spokesman added that “the negotiations contained the exchange of views about the way in the region to get out of the dangerous crises that hit it and threaten its stability and popular capabilities. The views agreed on a need for calm and to decrease the regional tension”.
The two leaders in this context confirmed the need for “the international community taking increased pressure to secure an agreement of calm and ceasefire in Gaza”, underlining the need to “end the humanitarian suffering the area witnesses and to stop the continuous Israeli escalation in the West Bank, with a need for launching a serious political track securing that the Palestinian people gain their legal and just rights in their independent state within the borders of 1967 with its capital of Holy Jerusalem, considering this as the sustainable way achieve peace, security and development in the region.

استقبل الرئيس المصري عبد الفتاح السيسي، اليوم الثلاثاء، رئيس الوزراء العراقي محمد شيّاع السوداني، الذي يقوم بزيارة رسمية إلى مصر.
وبدأ السوداني زيارته على رأس وفد حكومي عراقي رفيع المستوى، يضمّ نائب رئيس الوزراء وزير. الخارجية، ووزير التجارة، وعدداً من كبار المسؤولين العراقيين، بحضور رئيس مجلس الوزراء المصري، مصطفى مدبولي، وكلّ من وزراء. الخارجية، والإسكان، والاستثمار، والبترول.
وأوضح المتحدث الرسمي باسم رئاسة الجمهورية المصرية، أحمد فهمي، أن الرئيس السيسي “حرص. على تأكيد دعم مصر الكامل لوحدة العراق وسيادته وسلامة أراضيه”، وأيضاً دعم القاهرة جهود تحقيق الاستقرار. والأمن والتنمية، وتعزيز الروابط مع محيطها العربي
كما توافق الزعيمان، بحسب فهمي، على أنّ “الظروف الراهنة تستوجب تكثيف العمل العربي. المشترك، على المستويين الثنائي والجماعي”، بالإضافة إلى تطرّق اللقاء إلى التباحث بشأن التعاون الثنائي القائم بين. الدولتين، ولا سيما ما يتعلّق بالجهود الجارية لزيادة الاستثمارات المتبادلة والمشتركة، والتعاون في مجالات التنمية العمرانية، والطاقة، والصناعة، وغيرها. بهدف الاستغلال الأمثل لموارد البلدين بما يحقّق مصالح الشعبين.
وأضاف المتحدث الرسمي أن “المباحثات شهدت تبادل الرؤى بشأن سبل الخروج بالإقليم من. الأزمات الخطرة التي تعصف به وتهدّد استقراره ومقدّرات شعوبه، حيث توافقت الآراء بشأن ضرورة التهدئة وخفض التصعيد الإقليمي”.
وأكد الزعيمان، في هذا السياق، ضرورة “قيام المجتمع الدولي بالضغط المكثّف لإتمام اتفاق التهدئة ووقف. إطلاق النار في غزة”، مشدِدَّيْن على ضرورة “إنهاء المأساة الإنسانية التي يشهدها القطاع، والتوقّف عن التصعيد الإسرائيلي. المستمر في لضفة الغربية، مع ضرورة إطلاق مسار سياسي جاد، يضمن حصول الشعب الفلسطيني على حقه، المشروع والعادل، في دولته. المستقلة على حدود 1967 وعاصمتها القدس الشرقية، باعتبار ذلك هو السبيل المستدام لإرساء السلام والأمن والتنمية في المنطقة
