Iranian Supreme Leader as-Sayyid ‘Alī Hāmeneī says that the Islamic Revolution in his country means a threat to the American imperial regime, which led it to invoke the war with Iraq.
On Wednesday Iranian Supreme Leader as-Sayyid ‘Alī Hāmeneī said that “the Islamic Revolution was not only a political loss for a limited period for the forces of arrogance, but it has become a threat to the imperial power regime”.
The statement by the Iranian Supreme Leader in Iran came while he welcomed a delegation by the leadership and membership of the “Holy Defense” and the families of the martyrs at the “Imām Homeīnī” Shrine.
As-Sayyid Hāmeneī added that “the Iranian people foiled all the aims of America in the war imposed on them, but its lack of fear from America and the forces of arrogance was unacceptable by the West”. Thus pointing out that “the enemies tried to insight a number of internal strives within Iran after the Revolution, but they failed. That is why they resorted to the war via Iraq”.
The Iranian Supreme Leader confirmed that “the military attack against Iran after the Islamic Revolution was not unimaginable”. Adding: “Out war was not an international war. Today the Western documents confirm this truth. The main goal with this was to make us a skillful lesson to all peoples and say that all this is the result of the resistance”.
He continued: “With the war they wanted to cut out lands from Iran and make the Iranian people kneel down, to change the course of the Islamic Revolution, but our armed forces gained a huge achievement and their advance was good”.
The Iranian Supreme Leader confirmed that his country “reached a state of deterrence and military supremacy, and the enemies know that”.
He viewed that “one of the achievements of the war was the unity of the Iranian people. The Holy Defense United the Iranian people”. Also points out that “the Holy War was a phase full of events, sufferings, and benefits”.
The “Holy Defense” war, thus according to the Iranian denomination, was a war that broke out between Iran and Iraq on September 1980 and lasted until August 1988.

المرشد الإيراني السيد علي خامنئي يقول إنّ الثورة الإسلامية في بلاده شكلت تهديداً لنظام الإمبراطورية الأميركية، ما دفعها إلى إشعال الحرب مع العراق
قال المرشد الإيراني السيد علي خامنئي، اليوم الأربعاء، إنّ “الثورة الاسلامية لم تكن مجرد خسارة سياسية لفترة محددة لقوى الاستكبار، بل كانت تهديداً لنظام إمبراطورية السلطة”.
جاءت تصريحات المرشد الأعلي في إيران خلال استقباله حشداً من قادة ورواد “الدفاع المقدس” وأسر الشهداء في حسينية “الإمام الخميني”.
وأضاف السيد خامنئي أنّ “الشعب الإيراني أحبط كل أهداف أميركا في الحرب المفروضة، لكن عدم خوفه من أميركا والاستكبار لم يكن مقبولاً من قبل الغرب”، مشيراً إلى أنّ “الأعداء حاولوا إثارة عدد من الفتن في إيران بعد الثورة، لكنهم أخفقوا، لذا لجأوا إلى الحرب عبر العراق”.
وأكد المرشد الإيراني أنّ “الهجوم العسكري على إيران بعد الثورة الإسلامية لم يكن بعيداً من التوقعات”، مضيفاً: “حربنا كانت حرباً دولية، واليوم وثائق الغرب تؤكّد هذه الحقيقة، والهدف الأساسي منها هو أن نكون عبرة لبقية الشعوب وأن يقولوا لهم هذه نتيجة المقاومة”.
وتابع: “كانوا يريدون من وراء الحرب اقتطاع أراضٍ من إيران، وتركيع الشعب الإيراني، وتغيير مصير الجمهورية الإسلامية، لكن قواتنا المسلّحة حققت إنجازات كبيرة، وتقدمها كان جيداً”.
وأكد المرشد الإيراني أنّ بلاده “وصلت إلى مرحلة الردع والتفوق العسكري، والأعداء يعلمون ذلك”.
ورأى أنّ “أحد إنجازات الحرب كان وحدة الشعب الإيراني، والدفاع المقدس وحّد الشعب الإيراني”، لافتاً إلى أنّ “الدفاع المقدس كان مرحلة ملأى بالأحداث والمعاني والفوائد”.
وحرب “الدفاع المقدس”، وفق التسمية الإيرانية، هي حرب نشبت بين إيران والعراق، في أيلول/سبتمبر عام 1980 حتى آب/أغسطس 1988
