Iranian Foreign Minister ‘Abbās ‘Arāqčī welcomes his Iraqi colleague Fu’ād Ḥussayn in Tehran. What are the details of the meeting?

On Monday Iranian Foreign Minister ‘Abbās ‘Arāqčī confirmed that Iran is ready to enhance its relations with Iraq on all fields and reach a comprehensive joint cooperation agreement. This too place during a press conference with his Iraqi colleague Fu’ād Ḥussayn during the latter’s visit to Tehran.

‘Arāqčī pointed out that he presented full explanations to Iraq about the recent events Iran had been witnessing.

‘Arāqčī expressed the satisfaction of Tehran about the Americans leaving the “ ‘Ayn al-Asad base” and believed that this is “an important indication” about the strengthening independence and sovereignty of Iraq.

‘Arāqčī believed that “Iraq has proven that it is capable of playing an important role in strengthening the regional cooperation through dialogue”, pointing out “having common understanding with Baghdad about security and regional matters and that “we are working on arranging a joint security cooperation agreement”.

On his behalf Ḥussayn said that “our visit to our neighbor Iran is based on our strong relations between the two countries in the economic, cultural and other fields”, confirming the continued contacts between Iraq and Iran to study the ways to deal with the present situation in the region.

أكد وزير الخارجية الإيراني عباس عراقتشي،اليوم الأحد، أن إيران جاهزة. لتعزيز علاقاتها مع العراق على الصعد كافة والتوصل الى اتفاقية تعاون شامل مشترك، جاء ذلك خلال مؤتمر صحفي مع نظيره العراقي. فؤاد حسين خلال زيارة الأخير إلى طهران .

وأشار عراقتشي إلى أنه قدّم توضيحات شاملة للعراق في ما يتعلق. بالأحداث الأخيرة التي شهدتها إيران

وأعرب عراقتشي عن ارتياح طهران لإخلاء “قاعدة عين الأسد” الأميركية، واعتبر ذلك. “مؤشراً مهماً” على تعزيز استقلال العراق وسيادته.

ورأى عراقتشي أن “العراق أثبت أنه قادر على تأدية دور هام في. تعزيز التعاون الإقليمي عبر الحوار”، لافتاً إلى “وجود فهم مشترك. مع بغداد حول القضايا الأمنية والإقليمية، و”نعمل على تنظيم. اتفاق تعاون أمني مشترك”.

من جهته، قال حسين إن “زيارتنا لجارتنا إيران تستند الى العلاقات القوية بين البلدين في. مجالات الاقتصاد والثقافة وغيرهما “، مؤكّداً استمرارية التواصل بين العراق وإيران. لبحث كيفية التعامل مع الوضع الحالي في المنطقة
