The Iranian Foreign Minister confirms that today the termination of the Cairo understanding was announced to the International Atomic Energy Agency via an official letter to the General Director of the Agency.

Iranian Foreign Minister ‘Abbās ‘Arāqčī announced the official termination of the Cairo agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency, as the Agency’s General Director, Rafael Grossi was informed “via an official letter that this understanding is not operational anymore and counts as officially terminated”.

In a statement given on Thursday ‘Arāqčī explained that the understanding “was operationally terminated after the illegal measure of the three European states at the Security Council, to reinstate the lifted Security Council sanctions” against Iran, however, the official termination was announced via the letter.

‘Araqčī commented the decision of the Agency that was delivered to the European “troika” and Washington against Tehran, confirming that these sides “are ignoring the good intent of Iran and are undermining the credibility and the independence of the Agency, and are sabotaging the path of cooperation between the Agency and Iran”.

About the indirect negotiations in Muscat with the United States ‘Arāqčī said that those have reached acceptable solutions three times, but American envoy to the “Middle East” Steve Vitkoff was unable to convince the decision makers in Washington.

It should be remembered that the Board of Governors at the Agency earlier on Thursday had voted in favor of the European draft proposal concerning the Iranian nuclear program, as the draft gained 19 supporting vote against 3 votes against and 12 states refrained from voting.

The resolution states that Iran has to inform the Agency about the state of its enriched uranium “without any delay”, and about the state of its nuclear facilities that had been bombed during the Israeli-American aggression against Iran in June.

أعلن وزير الخارجية الإيراني، عباس عراقتشي، إلغاء اتفاق القاهرة مع الوكالة. الدولية للطاقة الذرية رسمياً، بحيث جرى إبلاغ المدير العام للوكالة، رافائيل غروسي، “ومن خلال رسالة رسمية، أنّ. هذا التفاهم لم يعد ساري المفعول، ويُعدُّ منتهياً رسمياً”.

وأوضح عراقتشي، في تصريحات أدلى بها الخميس، أنّ التفاهم “أُلغيَ عملياً بعد الإجراء. غير القانوني للدول الأوروبية الثلاث في مجلس الأمن، لإعادة فرض قرارات مجلس الأمن الملغاة” ضد إيران، إلا أنّه جرى الإعلان. عن الإلغاء رسمياً عبر الرسالة.

وعلّق عراقتشي على قرار الوكالة، والذي قدمته “الترويكا” الأوروبية وواشنطن ضد. طهران، مؤكداً أنّ هؤلاء الأطراف “يتجاهلون حسن نية إيران، ويزعزعون مصداقية واستقلالية الوكالة، ويربكون. مسار التعاون بين الوكالة وإيران”.

وعن محادثات مسقط غير المباشرة مع الولايات المتحدة، قال عراقتشي إنّه جرى التوصل إلى حلول. مقبولة لـ3 مرات لكن المبعوث الأميركي إلى “الشرق الأوسط” ستيف ويتكوف لم يتمكن من إقناع. أصحاب القرار في واشنطن.

يُذكر أنّ مجلس محافظي الوكالة صوّت، في وقت سابق اليوم، لمصلحة مشروع القرار الأوروبي المتعلّق. بالملف النووي الإيراني، بحيث حصل المشروع على 19 صوتاً مؤيداً، مقابل 3 أصوات. معارضة، وامتناع 12 دولة عن التصويت.

وينصّ القرار على أن تبلّغ إيران الوكالة عن حالة مخزونها من اليورانيوم المخصّب، “من دون. تأخير”، وعن وضع المنشآت النووية التي قُصفت خلال العدوان الإسرائيلي – الأميركي على. إيران، في حزيران/يونيو الماضي
