An Emirati website mentioned that Ṭāriq ibn Taymūr, father of the new sultan of Oman Haytam ibn Ṭāriq ibn Taymūr Āl Sa‘īd, was born in the city of Istanbul.
The “EREM News” website pointed out that the father of the new sultan of Oman is still alive; he was born in Istanbul at 1920, and he is now about 100 years old.
It also pointed out that the grandmother of new Sultan of Oman (his father’s mother) is of Turkish origin. Also that his father in his early life was facing problems talking in Arabic language in his first years in Turkey with his mother.
Last Saturday, Haytam ibn Ṭāriq ibn Taymūr Āl Sa‘īd took oath officially as Sultan of Oman, in accordance with the fundamental law of the state, based on the will of the late Sultan of Oman “Qābūs ibn Sa‘īd”.
The new Sultan of Oman is a paternal cousin of his predecessor, whose origin goes back to the first founder of the Bū-Sa‘īdī state (Aḥmad ibn Sa‘īd) at 1741, whose family rules the state. This family is one of the oldest Arabic continuously ruling dynasties.

ذكر موقع إماراتي، أن طارق بن تيمور، والد سلطان عمان الجديد هيثم بن طارق بن تيمور آل سعيد، هو من مواليد مدينة إسطنبول
وأشار موقع “إرم نيوز” الإماراتي، إلى أن والد السلطان الجديد، لا يزال على قيد الحياة، وولد في إسطنبول عام 1920، ويبلغ من العمر نحو 100 عام
ولفتت إلى أن جدة السلطان الجديد (أم والده) تركية الأصل، كما أن والده كان في بداية حياته يجد صعوبة في التحدث باللغة العربية في سنواته الأولى في تركيا مع والدته
والسبت الماضي، أدى هيثم بن طارق آل سعيد، اليمين القانونية، سلطانا لعمان، بموجب النظام الأساسي للدولة، بناء على وصية السلطان الراحل قابوس بن سعيد
والسلطان الجديد هو ابن عم نظيره الراحل، ويعود أصله للمؤسس الأول للدولة البوسعيدية (الإمام أحمد بن سعيد) عام 1741 الذي تتولى أسرته حكم البلاد، وتعد من أقدم الأسر العربية الحاكمة بصورة متواصلة
