UN envoy to Yemen Hans Grundberg announced that an agreement was reached between the government of Sana’a and the Saudi appointed Presidential Council on deescalation concerning the banking sector and the Yemeni Airways.
Grundberg confirmed that the agreement contains the cancellation of the recent decisions and measures against the banks of each other and to stop any similar future decisions or measures.
Grundberg reported that the two sides have agreed that the Yemeni Airways would relaunch its journeys between Sana’a and Jordan and to increase the number of journeys to three ones daily and to run daily journeys to Cairo and India, or according to the needs.
The UN envoy to Yemen pointed out that the two sides have agreed to hold meetings to remedy the administrative, technical and financial challenges the Yemeni Airways Company might face and to discuss all economic and humanitarian matters based on the roadmap.
Leader of the Anṣār Allah Movement as-Sayyid ‘Abd al-Malik al-Ḥūtī had underlined in his speech that Saudi Arabia prohibiting the journeys from the airport of Sana’a cannot be accepted at all, describing the Saudi restrictions on the Yemeni banks, local exchanges and companies as “sinful aggressive steps that cannot be accepted, or tolerated”.
As-Sayyid al-Ḥūtī threatened this aggression saying: “we will response accordingly. Banks to banks, the airport of Riyadh to the airport of Sana’a and the ports for the port”.
It sis important to note that two months ago the Central Bank in Aden under the control of the Saudi appointed Presidential Council issued a decision ruling to cease all transactions with 6 trade banks that have Sana’a Province as its headquarters.
In response to this economic aggression the Yemeni Central Bank in the capital Sana’a issued a decision to block transactions with 13 banks and entities, most of them with a headquarters in Aden for their contradiction with the law.
A month ago the airport of Sana’a was closed once again and the Transportation Minister of the government of Sana’a, Major General ‘Abd al-Wahhāb al-Dura confirmed that the continuous aggressive steps that have led to the total closure of Sana’a airport came after the firm Yemeni stance with the Palestinian cause, underlining that these pressures on the humanitarian and economic sides will not alter the position of Sana’a, nor will they stop the operations of the Yemeni Armed Forces helping Gaza.

أعلن المبعوث الأممي إلى اليمن، هانس غروندبرغ، عن التوصل إلى اتفاق بين حكومة صنعاء والمجلس. الرئاسي المعين سعودياً، لخفض التصعيد المتعلق بالقطاع المصرفي والخطوط الجوية اليمنية.
وأكد غروندبرغ أنّ الاتفاق يتضمن إلغاء القرارات والإجراءات الأخيرة ضد البنوك من الجانبين، والتوقف. مستقبلاً عن أي قرارات أو إجراءات مماثلة.
وأفاد غروندبرغ بأنّ الجانبين اتفقا على استئناف طيران الخطوط الجوية اليمنية للرحلات بين صنعاء. والأردن، وزيادة عدد رحلاتها إلى ثلاث يومياً، وتسيير رحلات إلى القاهرة والهند يومياً، أو بحسب الحاجة.
وأشار المبعوث الأممي إلى اليمن إلى أن الطرفين اتفقا على عقد اجتماعات لمعالجة التحديات الإدارية. والفنية والمالية التي تواجهها شركة الخطوط الجوية اليمنية، ولمناقشة كافة القضايا الاقتصادية والإنسانية بناءً على خارطة الطريق.
وكان قائد حركة أنصار الله، السيد عبد الملك الحوثي، قد شدّد في خطاب له على أنّ منع السعودية للرحلات. من مطار صنعاء لا يمكن قبوله أبداً، واصفاً المضايقة السعودية للبنوك والمصارف الأهلية والشركات. اليمنية بـأنها “خطوات ظالمة عدوانية لا يمكن قبولها ولا التغاضي عنها”.
وهدد السيد الحوثي على هذا العدوان بالقول: “سنرد بالمثل.. البنوك بالبنوك ومطار الرياض بمطار صنعاء والموانئ بالميناء”.
الجدير ذكره، أنّه قبل شهرين أصدر البنك المركزي في عدن، الخاضع لسيطرة حكومة المجلس. الرئاسي المعين سعودياً، قراراً يقضي بإيقاف التعامل مع 6 بنوك تجارية تتخذ من محافظة صنعاء مقراً رئيساً لها.
ورداً على العدوان الاقتصادي، أصدر البنك المركزي اليمني في العاصمة صنعاء، قراراً يحظر. التعامل مع 13 بنكاً وكياناً، أغلبيتها مقارها الرئيسة في عدن، بسبب مخالفتها القانون.
