On Friday Speaker of the Iranian Consultative Assembly and member of the Expediency Council ‘Alī Lārīğānī officially announced his candidacy on the presidential elections in Iran.
Thursday was the first day for the registry of the candidates for the fourteenth presidential elections that started at 8 a.m. by the instructions of Iranian Interior Minister Aḥmad Vaḥīdī, and it ended at 6 p.m.
5 candidates on the first day
Aside from Lārīğānī, former President of the Supreme Iranian National Security Council and current representative of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution and the Republic in the council Sa‘īd Ğalīlī was one of the most prominent candidates of the upcoming elections. He is know for his principle positions in the foreign policy, especially towards the West and the negotiations with the United States and the relations with it. He is a member in a number of Iranian sovereignty institutions, including the Expediency Council.
Also MP Moḥammad Reẓā Ṣabbāġiyān, MP ‘Abbās Moqtadā’ī, Leader of the reformist “Mardom-e Sālārī” Party Moṣṭafā Kavākebiyān, and Qodrat ‘Alī Ḥašmetyān registered for candidacy.
It should be remembered that the fourteenth presidential elections will be held on 28 June, while the registry process would last for 5 days, which is followed by a period of 7 days, when the Constitutional Guardian Council studies the eligibility of the candidates. After that the campaign period will come lasting 14 days.
Vaḥīdī had announced last Sunday the beginning of the candidacy requests for the new presidential elections starting this Thursday, for choose the president of the country following the martyr President Ebrāhīm Ra’īsī.
It is interesting to point out that if no candidate wins the majority of the votes (no candidate gains 50% plus one vote at least from the participating voters according to the Iranian electoral law) on 28 June as rerun turn will be held on 5 July.

The electoral headquarters has announced its readiness to hold electronic voting in a number of areas, including the city of Tehran and some of the major cities, but the matter has to gain the approval of the Guardian Council, which has taken a final decision on the matter yet.

ترشّح الرئيس السابق لمجلس الشورى الإيراني، وعضو مجمع تشخيص. مصلحة النظام، علي لاريجاني، اليوم الجمعة، بشكلٍ رسمي للانتخابات الرئاسية في إيران.
ويوم أمس الخميس، كان اليوم الأول لتسجيل المرشحين في الدورة الرابعة عشرة. للانتخابات الرئاسية، والذي بدأ في الثامنة صباحاً بأمر من وزير الداخلية أحمد وحيدي، وانتهى عند السادسة مساءً.
5 مرشحين في اليوم الأول
وترشّح إلى جانب لاريجاني، الرئيس الأسبق للمجلس الأعلى للأمن القومي الإيراني، وممثل قائد. الثورة والجمهورية فيه حالياً، سعيد جليلي، ليكون أحد أبرز المرشحين في الانتخابات المرتقبة، وهو المعروف. بمواقفه المبدئية في السياسة الخارجية، ولاسيما تجاه الغرب والتفاوض مع الولايات المتحدة والعلاقة. بها، وهو عضو في عدة مؤسسات سيادية إيرانية، منها مجمع تشخيص مصلحة النظام.
وأيضاً، ترشّح البرلماني محمد رضا صباغيان، والبرلماني عباس مقتدائي، وزعيم حزب “مردم سالاري” الإصلاحي مصطفى كواكبيان، وقدرت علي حشمتيان.
يُذكر أن الدورة الرابعة عشرة للانتخابات الرئاسية ستجرى يوم 28 حزيران/يونيو. المقبل، على أن تستمر عملية التسجيل لمدّة 5 أيام، تليها مهلة 7 أيام يدرس فيها مجلس صيانة الدستور أهلية. المرشحين، ثم فترة الحملات الانتخابية التي تمتد على مدار 14 يوماً.
وكان وحيدي أعلن، الأحد الماضي، بدء تلقي طلبات الترشح للانتخابات الرئاسية. الجديدة، أمس الخميس، لاختيار رئيسٍ للبلاد، يخلف الرئيس الشهيد، إبراهيم رئيسي.
تجدر الإشارة إلى أنه إذا لم يفز أي مرشح بأغلبية الأصوات (حصول أي من المرشحين. على نسبة 50% زائداً واحداً على الأقل من إجمالي عدد المشاركين في التصويت، بحسب قانون الانتخابات الإيراني)، في الـ28 من. حزيران/يونيو المُقبل، فسيتم إجراء جولة إعادة في الـ5 تموز/يوليو الذي يليه
