Algerian Foreign Minister Ṣabrī Bū Qaddūm done his duty to expressed condolences to the Syrian people as the Syrian government upon the passing of late Foreign Minister Walīd Mu‘allim and confirms his country’s standing beside Syria.
Algerian Foreign Minister Ṣabrī Bū Qaddūm done his duty to expressed condolences to the Syrian people as the Syrian government upon the passing of late Foreign Minister Walīd Mu‘allim during his visit to the Syrian embassy in Algiers.
Bū Qaddūm said to al-Mayadeen that: “the loss of the skillful and balanced diplomat Walīd Mu‘allim in not only a loss for Syria but for the Arab nation and the Arab diplomacy”.
The Algerian Foreign Minister also confirmed that his country stood by Syrian in the hardest conditions, pointing out that it will stay by it in actions, not only words.
About the foreign intrusions, Bū Qaddūm pointed out that: “Algeria’s stance is decisive and base on the principal and only the Syrian people decides its own fate”.
Algerian Foreign Minister Ṣabrī Bū Qaddūm last February called upon all the Arab countries to work on the return of Syria to the Arab League, expressing that: “the absence of Syria in its is a huge damage to the League and to the Arabs”.
It should be remembered that the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates mourned Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Walīd Mu‘allim, who passed away on the dawn of 16 November.
A number of leading Syrian political personalities mourned Foreign Minister Walīd Mu‘allim and talked about his role during the Syrian crisis and how he defended his country combating terrorism.
After the passing of Syrian Foreign Minister Walīd Mu‘allim, a number of countries expressed their sorry for his loss.
Syrian President Baššār al-Asad on Sunday issued 3 legal decrees naming Fayṣal al-Miqdād Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and Baššār al-Ğa‘farī as his deputy. He also transferred ambassador Bassām Ṣabbāġ to the permanent delegation in New York and entrusted to be a permanent envoy.

وزير الخارجية الجزائري صبري بوقادوم يؤدي واجب العزاء للشعب السوري والحكومة السوري في وفاة وزير الخارجية الراحل وليد المعلم، ويؤكد وقوف بلاده إلى جانب سوريا.
أدى وزير الخارجية الجزائري صبري بوقادوم، واجب العزاء للشعب السوري والحكومة السورية، في وفاة وزير الخارجية الراحل وليد المعلم، وذلك خلال زيارته السفارة السورية بالجزائر.
بوقادوم قال للميادين، إن “فقدان الدبلوماسي المحنك والرصين وليد المعلم، ليس فقدان لسوريا فقط، بل للأمة العربية والدبلوماسية العربية”.
كما أكد وزير الخارجية الجزائري أن بلده وقف إلى جانب سوريا في أصعب الظروف، لافتاً إلى أنه سيبقى إلى جانبها بالأفعال وليس بالأقوال فقط.
وبالنسبة للتدخلات الخارجية، أشار بوقادوم إلى أن “موقف الجزائر حاسم ومبدئي، والشعب السوري فقط من يقرر مصيره”.
وكان وزير الخارجية الجزائري صبري بو قادوم، دعا في شباط/فبراير الماضي، كل الدول العربية إلى العمل على عودة سوريا لجامعة الدول العربية، معتبراً أن “غياب سوريا فيه ضرر كبير للجامعة والعرب”.
ويذكر أن رئاسة مجلس الوزراء ووزارة الخارجية والمغتربين في سوريا نعت وليد المعلم، نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الخارجية والمغتربين، الذي توفي فجر الإثنين 16تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر.
