The National Center of Returnees in Sana’a welcomes 176 officers and troops from the recruits of the so-called “Sixth Border Patrol Regiment” belonging to the Saudi Coalition after they deserted it.
The National Center of Returnees on Thursday in the Yemeni capital Sana’a welcomes 176 officers and troops from the recruits of the so-called “Sixth Border Patrol Regiment” belonging to the Saudi Coalition and the forces of Hādī after they deserted and joined the ranks of the forces of the Sana’a government.
During the welcoming in which several sheiks and officers of the Defense and Interior Ministries took part, the returning soldiers expressed “their happiness to return to the ranks of a homeland after they left the lines of the enemy”, according to what was cited by the official site of the Defense Ministry in the Sana’a government.
The deserters explained that: “What planned destruction, killing of Yemenis and occupation of Yemeni lands the Saudi Coalition does makes anyone, who still respects himself and fears for his country and kin to leave the ranks of the Saudi Coalition and return to defend his country and people”.
On its own term, the National Center for Returnees belonging to the government of Sana’a called upon “all those, who are still fighting in the ranks of the aggressor to take advance from the general amnesty, which was granted by the Supreme Political Council and leave the ranks of the aggressor being reassured that whoever takes the decision to return to shall meet a generous treatment and will receive only welcoming and cooperation”.
This desertion comes only days after the Yemeni Armed Forces took over the Mās Base in Ma’rib after a dragged out battle with the forces of President ‘Abd Rabbihi Manṣūr Hādī and the “Iṣlāḥ”, whereas hundreds of dead, injured and captured fell out from the Coalition forces.
By taking control over the strategic Mās Base, the Mās valley and all the regions, valleys and places around the city means that the “highway line” between the capital Sana’a and Ma’rib fell after the army and the “Popular Committees” fully took over the area of al-Ḥalḥalān and took the battle to another point towards Ma’rib.

استقبل المركز الوطني للعائدين في العاصمة اليمنية صنعاء، اليوم الخمسين، 176 عنصراً من ضباط وأفراد ومنتسبي ما يسمى بـ”اللواء السادس حرس حدود” التابع للتحالف السعودي وقوات هادي، بعد انشقاقهم وانضمامهم لقوات حكومة صنعاء
وخلال الاستقبال الذي حضره عدد من ضباط وزارتي الدفاع والداخلية والمشائخ، أعرب الجنود العائدين عن “سعادتهم بالعودة إلى الصف الوطني بعد تركهم صفوف العدوان”، بحسب ما نقله الموقع الرسمي لوزارة الدفاع في حكومة صنعاء
وأكد المنشقون أن “ما يقوم به التحالف السعودي من تدمير ممنهج للبلاد وقتل اليمنيين واحتلال للأرض اليمنية يدفع بمن لا زال في نفسه كرامة وغيرة على وطنه وعرضه أن يغادر صفوف التحالف السعودي ويعود للدفاع عن بلده وشعبه
من جهته، دعا المركز الوطني للعائدين التابع لحكومة صنعاء “كل من لازال يقاتل في صف العدوان إلى استغلال العفو العام الذي أطلقه المجلس السياسي الأعلى وترك صفوف العدوان مؤكدا أن من يتخذ قرار العودة سيلقى معاملة كريمة وسيجد كل الترحيب والتعاون
وتأتي تلك الانشقاقات بعد أيام من سيطرة القوات المسلحة اليمنية على معسكر ماس في مأرب، بعد معارك طاحنة مع قوات الرئيس عبد ربه منصور هادي و”الإصلاح”، حيث وسقط مئات القتلى والجرحى والأسرى من قوات التحالف
وإحكام السيطرة على معسكر الماس الاستراتيجي ووادي الماس وجميع المناطق والأودية والمواقع المحيطة به يعني سقوط “الخطّ الإسفلتي” الرابط بين العاصمة صنعاء ومأرب بعد سيطرة الجيش و”اللجان الشعبية” على منطقة حلحلان بالكامل ونقل المعركة إلى ما بعد نقطة الكسارة في اتّجاه مأرب
