The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces that an agreement was reached about a temporary ceasefire with Afghanistan led by the Ṭālebān Movement for 48 hours starting at Wednesday night. This came after new fights erupted between the two sides.

On Wednesday the Pakistani Foreign Ministry announced reaching a temporary ceasefire agreement with Afghanistan starting at Wednesday 6 p.m. at Islamabad time, lasting for 48 hours, after new fights had erupted.
In a statement the Pakistani Foreign Ministry confirmed that the two sides “will take honest efforts through dialogue to find a positive solution for this complex matter that is still solvable”.
On his behalf the official spokesman of the Afghan Ṭālebān Movement Dabīḥ Allah Muğāhid confirmed that Afghanistan ordered its forces to abide to the ceasefire unless the other side is committing any aggression.
Before the statement a massive explosion took place in the capital Kabul, about which the spokesman of the Afghan government said that plumes of smoke were seen rising above the city.
Muğāhid explained that the explosion was resulted by an oil container exploding in addition to an electric converter, which caused fires in the Afghan capital, where ambulance cars converged in the middle of the city. He thus refuted the reports that were talking about “a foreign areal attack”.
The temporal ceasefire statement comes after heavy confrontations seen along the border areas between the two sides, as clashes broke out between the Afghan forces led by the Ṭālebān Movement and the Pakistani army. During these the two sides exchanged artillery bombardment and direct clashes.
The ceasefire agreement aims to calm the situation on the ground and give floor to the diplomatic channels to put aside the broader confrontation that might threaten the entire region.

وزارة الخارجية الباكستانية تعلن التوصل إلى اتفاق مؤقت لوقف إطلاق النار مع أفغانستان. التي تقودها حركة طالبان، لمدة 48 ساعة تبدأ مساء اليوم، وذلك بعد اندلاع قتال جديد بين الجارتين

أعلنت وزارة الخارجية الباكستانية، اليوم الأربعاء، التوصل إلى اتفاق. مؤقت لوقف إطلاق النار مع أفغانستان، يبدأ عند الساعة السادسة من مساء اليوم بتوقيت إسلام آباد، ويستمر لمدة 48 ساعة، عقب. اندلاع قتال جديد بين الجارتين.
وأكدت الخارجية الباكستانية، في بيان، أن الجانبين “سيبذلان جهوداً صادقة. من خلال الحوار لإيجاد حل إيجابي لهذه القضية المعقدة التي لا تزال قابلة للحل”.
بدوره، أكد المتحدث باسم حكومة طالبان الأفغانية، ذبيح الله مجاهد، أن أفغانستان. أمرت قواتها بالالتزام بوقف إطلاق النار شرط ألا يرتكب الطرف الآخر أي عدوان.
وسبق الإعلان وقوع انفجار ضخم في العاصمة كابول، حيث أفاد المتحدث باسم. الحكومة الأفغانية بأن ألسنة الدخان شوهدت تتصاعد فوق المدينة.
وأوضح مجاهد أن الانفجار نجم عن انفجار صهريج نفط بالإضافة الى محول. كهربائي، مما تسبب في اندلاع حرائق في العاصمة الأفغانية، حيث جابت سيارات الإسعاف وسط المدينة، نافياً صحة الأنباء التي تحدثت عن “هجوم جوي أجنبي”.
ويأتي الإعلان عن وقف نار مؤقت، بعد مواجهات عنيفة شهدتها المناطق. الحدودية بين البلدين، حيث اندلعت اشتباكات بين القوات الأفغانية التي تقودها حركة طالبان والجيش الباكستاني، تبادل. خلالها الطرفان القصف المدفعي والاشتباكات المباشرة.
