Iranian Defense Minister General Amīr Ḥātamī says to his Iraqi colleague that the relations between the two countries can be turned into a successful example of cooperation, calling him to an official visit to Iran.
Iranian Defense Minister General Amīr Ḥātamī confirmed today, on Sunday to his Iraqi colleague that the relations between Tehran and Baghdad can transform into a successful example of cooperation.
General Amīr Ḥātamī congratulated “Ğum‘a ‘Inād Sa‘adūn Hiṭāb al-Ğabbūrī” for his appointment as defense minister in Iraq, wishing him success in this important responsibility. Also saying that Iran’s view on Iraq is rooted deeply in the same history, culture, and religion.
During the conversation over the Internet with his Iraqi colleague the Defense Minister also expressed his relief for the formation of a government on the basis of national will and consent, which serves all powers in Iraq, saying that is full, independent and strong with the participation of all the ethnicities and religious denominations, which is our principal policy.
Also, he hoped that the Iraqi government will succeed to be loyal to its responsibilities and tasks, especially in fulfilling the national demands, improving the economic conditions, and fighting Corona.
Besides this Ḥātamī pointed out the affect and the necessity of defense cooperation between the two countries providing stability and safety in the region.
Ḥātamī called his Iraqi colleague to an official visit.
On his own term, the defense minister wished success for the Iraqi government in combatting and containing Corona, stressing that the Defense Ministry will donate a number of equipment to detect Corona and other medical tools for the health sector dealing with this sickness to the Iraqi embassy in Tehran.

أكّد وزير الدفاع الإيراني العميد أمير حاتمي، اليوم الاحد، لنظيره العراقي أن العلاقات بين طهران وبغداد يمكن أن تتحول إلى نموذج ناجح للتعاون
وهنأ العميد أمير حاتمي “جمعة عناد سعدون خطاب الجبوري” على تعيينه وزيراً للدفاع في العراق، متمنياً له النجاح في هذه المسؤولية المهمة، وقائلاً، أن نظرة إيران للعراق نابعة من تاريخ وثقافة ودين مشترك
كما أعرب وزير الدفاع خلال مباحثات عبر الانترنت مع نظيره العراقي، عن ارتياحه لتشكيل الحكومة على أساس الإرادة والإجماع الوطني وبما يخدم مصالح جميع القوى في العراق، قائلاً، إن عراق متكامل ومستقل وقوي بمشاركة جميع القوميات والمذاهب، هو سياستنا المبدئية
كذلك، أمل أن تنجح الحكومة العراقية في الوفاء بمسؤولياتها وواجباتها وخاصة في تحقيق المطالب الوطنية وتحسين الظروف الاقتصادية ومحاربة كورونا
هذا وأشار حاتمي إلى تأثير وضرورة التعاون الدفاعي بين البلدين في إرساء الاستقرار والأمن في المنطقة
حاتمي دعا وزير الدفاع العراقي إلى إجراء زيارة رسمية لإيران
بدوره، تمنى وزير الدفاع للحكومة العراقية النجاح في مكافحة واجتثاث كورونا، منوها إلى أن وزارة الدفاع ستسلم عدداً من معدات كشف كورونا وغيرها من اللوازم الطبية للكادر الطبي الذي يعالج هذا المرض إلى السفارة العراقية في طهران
